Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of public education and outreach programs.
  • Work with community-based organizations to plan promotional, educational, and other events designed to increase community awareness.
  • Assist with publishing activities, including writing, editing, budgeting, scheduling, and distribution.
  • Interact with outside advertising agencies, printers, photographers, and other vendors.
  • Assist with preparing and distributing public health education and navigation manuals.
  • Identify effective strategies for promoting enrollment in ongoing studies through active and passive recruitment, in-person outreach, and online outreach.
  • Conduct brief surveys by phone and in community settings.
  • Assist with compiling data for presentations.
  • Develop professional relationships with mental health providers, researchers, and community members.
  • Collaborate with team members on special projects and events.
  • Plan and manage recruitment campaigns for new Early Steps direct service providers in needed fields.
  • Develop and initiate the Early Steps Provider Recruitment and Retention Plan and report yearly results to Florida’s Early Steps State Office.
  • Analyze zip-code-area needs, gaps, and overflow for categories of direct service providers, including Infant Toddler Development Specialists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech providers, and hearing providers.
  • Recruit agencies and individual providers to serve Early Steps children in the most needed zip code areas.
  • Conduct preliminary on-site visits for new agencies and meet new direct service providers to assess qualifications and confirm their understanding of and ability to comply with the Early Steps natural-environment model and Florida Early Steps professional-development training requirements.
  • Ensure direct service providers’ education and experience meet Florida Early Steps policy requirements.
  • Collect and review direct service provider enrollment paperwork for manager approval.
  • Ensure staff and direct service provider information is maintained, documented, and updated according to policy and Medicaid requirements.
  • Track recertification of Infant Toddler Development Specialists to ensure state requirements are met.
  • Support the professional-development initiative in a quality-assurance capacity by tracking, monitoring, and reporting provider fidelity.
  • Work with providers who have achieved FL-EPIC fidelity to submit annual coaching videos for review by the Lead Implementation Coach or Provider Coach.
  • Work with the Lead Implementation Coach to maintain records related to direct service provider eligibility for the FL-EPIC fee.
  • Communicate eligibility for the FL-EPIC fee to direct service providers and their corresponding agencies.
  • Perform other tasks related to recruiting Early Steps providers and supporting professional development and training as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the Early Steps Service Delivery System is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Dade County community and its occupational, speech, and physical therapy providers is desirable.
