About the job

Requirements
  • Have completed a bachelor's or master's degree, or have graduated within the past year; computer science, machine learning, or AI is strongly preferred, and adjacent quantitative degrees are welcome when supported by relevant work.
  • Have completed at least one substantial software engineering or AI engineering internship; experience shipping production software at a company with fewer than 50 employees is especially relevant.
  • Have hands-on experience building AI agents through an internship, research, coursework, or a substantial side project, and be able to explain what was learned and changed after observing failures.
  • Be fluent with coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent, with experience shipping production code through them.
  • Have strong fundamentals in a modern programming language; the company's stack is Python, and candidates with depth in C++, Java, Go, or Rust should be prepared to ramp up.
  • Be prepared to discuss a substantial side project, research prototype, open-source contribution, or hackathon build in depth.
Responsibilities
  • Own real engineering surface area within a finance-domain pod, including context, prompts, tools, evaluations, guardrails, and related product work.
  • Work directly with controllers, accountants, and CFOs to understand finance workflows and build agent systems that automate them.
  • Build verification, guardrails, observability, and evaluation systems for non-deterministic AI.
  • Develop context engineering over transactions, ledgers, contracts, policies, and historical decisions while avoiding bloat, drift, and data leakage.
  • Ingest, normalize, and reconcile data from enterprise resource planning systems, banks, payroll, billing platforms, customer relationship management systems, and email.
  • Build agents that explain their reasoning, escalate uncertainty, and improve from human corrections.
  • Orchestrate durable, replay-safe workflows across unreliable, stateful enterprise systems.
  • Build idempotent, audit-ready updates to systems of record with full traceability.
  • Scope and ship independent work by the end of the first quarter.
  • Make decisions across the large language model pipeline, infrastructure, backend, and user experience, and deliver full-stack features when needed.
  • Use coding agents to accelerate development and build product agents using prompt and context design, tool use, evaluations, and appropriate model selection.
  • Understand finance workflows and translate them into software; investigate failures to understand their causes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Research in AI, machine learning, or systems, including published or in-progress work at NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, or similar venues.
  • Teaching-assistant or course-assistant experience for a substantial systems, machine learning, or compilers course.
  • A side project used by real users.
  • Open-source contributions relied upon by other people.
  • Experience building evaluations, verification, or observability for non-deterministic systems and detecting bugs before human users do.
  • Internship experience at a pre-seed through Series B startup.
  • Strong performance in competitive programming or olympiads such as ICPC, IMO, IPhO, or Putnam.
  • Interest in fintech, accounting, or how money moves.

About the company

Maximor AI offers an AI-native finance automation platform for mid-market and enterprise companies, automating repetitive accounting tasks such as month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting with specialized AI agents. The Audit-Ready Agent architecture automatically generates workpapers, reviewer notes, and audit trails to keep automated processes compliant and explainable, while the platform integrates with existing systems (ERP, CRM, payroll, banking) and serves as a unified finance operations command center. By reducing manual work and enabling faster book closures, Maximor aims to increase finance team capacity and deliver strategic insights to leadership, with early customers reporting significantly shorter close times. The company targets GAAP and IFRS accounting under a B2B model, and plans to expand its product suite after a $9 million seed round led by Foundation Capital in 2025.

Maximor rebrands as Hyphenate after 86x revenue growth, expanding autonomous finance platform across CFO workflows

Maximor has rebranded as Hyphenate following 86-times year-on-year revenue growth. The autonomous finance platform expanded beyond its initial focus to now cover five areas across the office of the CFO: order-to-cash, treasury, general ledger accounting and close, procure-to-pay, and reporting and insights. The average customer runs six modules, with 40% expanding within their first year. The platform uses AI agents that learn how companies run finance operations, automating workflows whilst sitting atop existing ERP and banking systems. "Finance leaders don't want a different tool for every workflow," said CEO Ramnandan Krishnamurthy. The company aims to enable finance teams to scale without proportionate headcount growth by automating routine tasks and maintaining continuously reconciled books rather than month-end processes.

Key points. * Divestment of Primepower Queensland Pty Ltd to Maximor Nominees Pty Ltd completed on 31 July 2026. * Babylon received cash consideration of $150,000 at settlement. * The transaction is expected to result in a non-cash write-down of approximately $5.0 million, primarily relating to core engines and inventory. * The sale marks a full exit from the maintenance segment with no ongoing liabilities retained. * The company's resources are now focused entirely on its specialist water management rental business. Babylon Pump & Power, a specialist resources services provider supplying high-pressure pumping, dewatering, and project water management solutions to the Australian mining sector, announced the completed divestment of Primepower Queensland Pty Ltd on 3 August 2026. The transaction was settled on 31 July 2026, with Maximor Nominees Pty Ltd acquiring the non-core subsidiary. What the ~$5.0 million non-cash write-down means for BPP shareholders. While Babylon received $150,000 in cash consideration at completion, the transaction is expected to result in a non-cash write-down of approximately $5.0 million, relating primarily to core engines and inventory previously held within the Primepower business. The company said the divestment also enables further corporate simplification and supports ongoing cost reduction initiatives. Shareholders should note this write-down will affect reported financial results for the relevant period, though the company has not provided specific guidance on the timing or full earnings impact beyond what was stated in the latest company update. How removing Primepower sharpens bpp's water management rental focus. With the Primepower divestment finalised, Babylon said its financial and management resources are now fully directed toward growing its specialist water management rental business. The company brings decades of experience supplying and maintaining equipment in remote and offshore locations across Australia's resources sector, including high-pressure pumping and dewatering operations. The removal of the maintenance segment is described as a strategic simplification, designed to concentrate the Group's capabilities and capital on what the company considers its core competency - rental-based water management services for mining clients. Transaction authorised by Managing Director Michael Shelby. The company update was authorised by Managing Director Michael Shelby, who can be contacted directly at Babylon's High Wycombe, Western Australia office. The company also engaged NWR Communications for media enquiries related to the transaction. Babylon Pump & Power additionally provides speciality power generation solutions, including system design, installation, commissioning, and operations and maintenance services. Investors may be watching for further updates on the company's cost reduction progress and any financial reporting that reflects the impact of the approximately $5.0 million non-cash write-down associated with this divestment.
