Who We Are Looking For:
We are looking for a Staff Product Manager to help us develop our inventory acquisition integrations and drive our thriving ad-tech business to the next level. We highly value people who learn fast, who are humble, and who drive results through incredible teamwork. If you deeply believe you can make our customers’ world a much better place, then this may be the opportunity for you. The ideal candidate will be technical and data-driven, understand the world of real-time bidding and online ad auctions, and be passionate about working with publishers to help them monetize their inventory. They will be growth-oriented and able to influence across teams and functions.
People who join The Trade Desk Product Management Team are fearless, courageous, passionate, and willing to dream big and then execute on it. We are committed to helping you grow, challenging you with hard, meaningful work, and celebrating our successes and failures together. Yes, we sometimes fail because we believe the risk is part of making big bets. So we take the risks and learn from them. We also value strong leadership, asking our PMs to take on large, ambitious, and often ambiguous projects that can help extend our lead in the industry.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Staff Product Manager on the Inventory team, you will help build the vision and strategy for The Trade Desk’s connection to the best publishers powering the Open Internet. We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of Prebid and its different versions spanning display and mobile, whether JavaScript or server-based, including their setup and configuration. The work will include designing front-end and back-end features that are mission-critical for our company and for keeping the internet open and free for all.
As an Inventory Product Manager at the Trade Desk, your responsibilities will include:
- Helping align the vision, define the strategy, and set the roadmap for Display and Mobile inventory acquisition. This will include working closely with stakeholders across our Engineering, Data Science, and Business teams to clarify trade-offs between technical requirements, business impact, and customer usability.
- Gathering customer requirements, designing prototypes, prioritizing and scoping releases that represent customers’ needs, and then working with the rest of the engineering team to bring those products to life and iterate on them over time.
- Driving the execution of the roadmap mentioned above by working closely with our engineers to keep our plans on track.
- Preparing updates for presenting to senior stakeholders, showing the initiative progress, KPI improvements, and challenges found along the way.
What You Bring to the Table
- You have 6+ years of Product Management experience and have demonstrated a sustained track record of making significant contributions to impactful multi-year and multi-iteration projects.
- You have a deep knowledge of prebid.js, server, and other header bidding technology. Your experience includes troubleshooting ad tech for publishers in web, mobile/app, display, and video environments, setting up pages and SDKs, configuring prebid servers, supporting publisher yield management, and implementing integrations with ad servers involved in the transaction.
- You also understand Adtech and Martech technology, including applications of DSPs, DMPs, CDPs, and Data Activation platforms.
- You possess an entrepreneurial attitude and are self-directed while addressing complex problems through creative solutions. You are a true builder who considers all angles of a problem to solve, from the business side to the technology side, from the software to the operational processes.
- You have excellent communication/presentation skills in large and small groups, verbal and written, via write-ups and presentations. You prepare write-ups and presentations that leverage data in a compelling and clear way.
- You write detailed specifications that clearly articulate the ‘why’ behind the problem and that present the technical and business trade-offs analyzed.
- You are passionate about your work and project features, so give it your all.
- You are collaborative and are one of those PMs with good ideas, but more importantly, you shine by ensuring the right idea gets done, whether it’s yours or someone else’s.
- You are selfless and encapsulate the motto that Product Management is about ensuring the best work gets done by the team, and they share in the credit.
- You have empathy with the customer and capture and present their voice to internal stakeholders from a position of deep understanding.
