Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in asset management, focused on public credit investing and manager selection and oversight.
  • Experience using data analytics and artificial-intelligence-enabled tools for investment research, manager evaluation, or portfolio insights.
  • Strong understanding of global public credit markets, including corporate bonds, leveraged loans, structured credit, and credit market dynamics.
  • Experience conducting due diligence on external investment managers, including evaluating investment processes, portfolio construction, and risk management.
  • An undergraduate degree is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex investment information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Ability to present investment recommendations and market views to senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a diverse, high-performing team environment.
  • Ability to engage and motivate others around key ideas, listen effectively, provide constructive feedback, and participate in discussion and brainstorming.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external managers.
Responsibilities
  • Provide analytical and portfolio management support to the Managing Director in overseeing externally managed public credit portfolios on a day-to-day basis, including ad hoc analysis and strategic initiatives.
  • Source, screen, and conduct due diligence on external public credit managers across investment grade, high yield, loans, and structured credit strategies using data platforms and artificial-intelligence-enabled tools.
  • Prepare investment recommendations, including investment memoranda and presentations, for internal Investment Committee approval.
  • Assist in structuring and negotiating investment mandates, guidelines, and fee arrangements with external managers in collaboration with risk, legal, and other internal teams.
  • Monitor external managers, including performance attribution, risk exposures, style drift, and adherence to investment guidelines; use artificial intelligence to improve analysis, identify performance and risk trends, and support portfolio-level reporting and insights for senior management.
  • Lead or contribute to Global Credit initiatives that enhance portfolio management infrastructure through artificial intelligence and the integration of investment systems and analytics capabilities; partner with Risk, Performance, Operations, and Technology teams to improve investment data quality.
  • Support portfolio construction and strategic asset allocation across public credit, including capital allocation decisions across segments and managers and the development of overall portfolio strategy.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of global public credit markets, including macroeconomic trends, interest rates, credit spreads, and technical factors, to inform manager selection and portfolio positioning.
  • Engage regularly with external managers through diligence meetings, portfolio reviews, and on-site visits to assess portfolio strategy, market outlook, and execution capabilities.
  • Support client and stakeholder reporting, including quarterly updates, market commentary, and materials for senior management and board-level discussions.

  • CFA designation, MBA, or master's degree.

Simmons & Simmons has advised the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO) on its acquisition of a significant minority interest in TIP Group (TIP) 28 July 2026 International law firm Simmons & Simmons has advised the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO), one of Canada's largest institutional investors, on its acquisition of a significant minority interest in TIP Group (TIP), a leading pan European transportation equipment leasing and services platform. Headquartered in Amsterdam, TIP operates a fleet of around 90,000 trailers, trucks and specialised equipment and provides integrated leasing, rental, maintenance and repair, digital fleet solutions and used equipment sales to more than 15,000 customers. Its network spans over 130 locations across 17 countries, making it one of Europe's largest trailer leasing and equipment services businesses. The transaction, involving IMCO and global leader in alternative investments GCM Grosvenor acquiring a 25% minority interest from I Squared Capital, aligns with IMCO's infrastructure strategy focused on resilient businesses and stable cash flows. Completion is expected to take place Q1 2027, subject to regulatory and foreign investment approvals. I Squared Capital sells 25% stake in TIP Group to IMCO and GCM Grosvenor

I Squared Capital has agreed to sell a 25% minority stake in TIP Group, a leading European transportation equipment leasing platform, to Investment Management Corporation of Ontario and GCM Grosvenor. Financial terms were not disclosed. TIP Group, headquartered in Amsterdam, operates a fleet of approximately 90,000 trailers, trucks, and specialised equipment across 130 service locations in 17 countries, serving over 15,000 customers. Since acquiring TIP in 2018, I Squared has transformed the business through organic investment and 30 strategic acquisitions, more than doubling both revenue and EBITDA. The firm expanded TIP's geographic footprint, strengthened its maintenance network, and invested in fleet refurbishment, electrification, and digital capabilities. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, subject to closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
