About the Job

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience finishing drywall is required; manufacturing, commercial construction, or production experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in drywall finishing techniques that produce smooth, defect-free surfaces ready for paint or final finishes is required.
  • A strong understanding of joint compound types, tape selection, and application methods for different seam conditions is required.
  • Familiarity with drywall finishing tools and equipment, including taping knives, mud pans, sanders, corner tools, and lifts, is required.
  • The ability to read and interpret construction drawings and finish specifications is required.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods, work overhead or on ladders, and handle drywall finishing materials and tools is required.
  • The ability to work efficiently without compromising finish quality is required.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Apply joint compound to drywall seams, joints, and fastener heads using taping knives and appropriate techniques for each coat.
  • Tape seams and joints with joint tape, feathering compound edges to create seamless transitions and minimize visible lines.
  • Finish inside and outside corners using corner bead and compound to achieve straight, clean lines.
  • Sand finished surfaces between coats and before final inspection to achieve smooth, defect-free results ready for paint or other finishes.
  • Identify and repair imperfections, voids, and damage in drywall panels before mudding begins, coordinating with framers as needed.
  • Verify application specifications for fire-rated, moisture-resistant, or sound-rated finishes, and apply appropriate finishing techniques for each application.
  • Mix, manage, and maintain joint compound at the proper consistency to ensure quality application and minimize waste.
  • Inspect finished work against specifications and quality standards, addressing touch-ups or rework promptly.
  • Work efficiently to meet production schedules while maintaining finish quality standards that reduce or eliminate downstream rework.
  • Collaborate with drywall hangers, downstream trades, and supervisors to maintain production flow and handoff standards.
  • Communicate with supervisors to address challenges, material issues, and opportunities to improve workflow and efficiency.
  • Follow safety protocols, including proper dust containment and respiratory protection in the finishing environment.
  • Maintain tools in good condition and keep the work area organized and clean throughout the shift.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience finishing drywall in manufacturing, commercial construction, or production environments is preferred.

About the Company

Reframe Systems

Modular, robotic construction of homes

Missing-middle housing is built with modular panelized walls created in small local microfactories, while a vertically integrated process covers design, engineering, construction, and site work to deliver turnkey homes like duplexes, triplexes, single-family houses, and ADUs. Microfactories use software, physical AI, and vision-guided robotics to automate framing and sheathing; panels arrive with plumbing and wiring pre-installed and snap together on site for fast construction. The company differentiates itself by deploying small, quickly set-up microfactories in housing-short regions and using a co-developer/builder model that triggers factory setup only after securing a project pipeline, with units eligible for subsidies or open-market pricing. Its goal is to reach one million housing units over the next 20 years to reduce construction emissions and expand affordable, sustainable housing.
