  • Genuine interest in financial products and how data informs product decisions.
Responsibilities
  • Work with portfolio managers, research analysts, and data teams to identify where artificial intelligence can improve the investment research process.
  • Help define requirements and build prototypes for artificial-intelligence-native research tools, including agentic workflows, retrieval over filings, transcripts, and broker research, and structured extraction of financial data.
  • Write working code for data pipelines, evaluation harnesses, and agent and prompt iteration.
  • Analyze investment and market data to test whether a tool improves a research or investment outcome.
  • Translate between investment and engineering audiences by turning an investment workflow into a clear product specification.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior internship experience in finance, including banking, fintech, or asset management.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, statistics, or data engineering tools and concepts.

The investment bank now stands at a market capitalisation of about $3.6 billion, with shares trading at $35.75 as of 18 September 2026. The decline appears company-specific rather than market-driven. Matt Spence joins Lazard as head of defense technology and emerging technology

Lazard has appointed Matt Spence as Head of Defense Technology and Emerging Technology within its Technology Group, based in San Francisco. Spence will advise defence, security, and emerging technology companies on mergers and acquisitions and financings. Spence joins from Barclays, where he served as Managing Director and Global Head of Venture Capital Banking, building the firm's defence-tech and dual-use technology investment banking franchise.
