About the company

OSCO Construction Group makes steel and concrete components for building and infrastructure projects across Canada and the eastern United States. Its operating companies cover structural steel, reinforcing steel, precast concrete and ready-mix concrete, alongside aggregates and construction services. Customers buy materials and fabricated components or contract with group businesses for installation, general contracting, construction management and electrical work. Strescon and PreCon make precast products that arrive at job sites ready for assembly, from wall panels to bridge components. What believers are saying

  • Trades have training routes: OSCO's careers program includes apprenticeships and employee training.
  • Mining contracts support production: Ocean Steel began delivering about 1,150 tons for Eskay Creek in March 2026.
  • Counselling has defined allowances: OSCO's April 2026 assistance program includes five annual hours each for individuals and couples.

What critics are saying

  • Fieldwork has physical demands: Strescon's Halifax technician role requires heights, outdoor work, travel and overtime.
  • Delivery depends on other trades: Ocean Steel's mining work requires coordination with mechanical and electrical contractors.
  • Drivers face recorded oversight: Greenwood Ready Mix's entire heavy and light vehicle fleet uses dash cameras.

What makes OSCO unique

  • Floor systems combine sister companies: Ocean Steel, Strescon and PreCon jointly supply and install GIRDER-SLAB steel-concrete floors.
  • Walls use carbon reinforcement: Strescon's CarbonCast panels join insulation and concrete through a carbon-fiber grid.
  • Water infrastructure adds a specialty: Strescon assembles large treatment tanks from prestressed panels tensioned together on site.
