  • Must have a strong understanding of the English language sufficient to read and write.
  • Must be able to continuously walk and stand, sit infrequently, and perform work both inside and outside.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and push 0–10 pounds constantly and 11–50 pounds frequently.
  • Must be able to climb stairs frequently, with an elevator available as an alternative resource if available.
  • Must be able to bend frequently at the waist, knees, hips, and spine and may need to manipulate weights of 25 pounds or more.
  • Must be able to squat frequently to reach below the knee and may need to lift 50 pounds or less.
  • Must be able to twist or rotate occasionally at the trunk, hips, knees, and neck while manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery and execution of quality food service to residents and guests.
  • Set up, clean, and organize workstations.
  • Prepare ingredients for the shift, including washing vegetables, chopping, and seasoning meat.
  • Prepare the oven, utensils, and grill for the shift.
  • Take orders from wait staff or a computerized system.
  • Cook orders according to food health and safety standards.
  • Recommend ideas for specials or seasonal dishes.
  • Handle multiple food orders at one time.
  • Monitor multiple food orders as new orders arrive.
  • Dress orders for presentation.
  • Ensure each guest order has the correct food and sides.
  • Deliver food orders to wait staff in a timely manner.
  • Store all food properly.
  • Sanitize and clean workstations and utensils.
  • Reorder stock and food supplies.
  • Assist other cooks in preparing food and help other team members when needed.
  • Attend training courses at the community and maintain up-to-date monthly, quarterly, and annual training through the designated Learning Management System.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that relate to the success of the community and the care, comfort, and happiness of residents.
