Responsibilities
  • Supervise, develop, plan, coordinate, organize, implement, and evaluate nursing program activities at the site.
  • Plan, develop, manage, update, and evaluate the nursing program, including the registered nurse program budget, faculty and staff, clinical site liaison activities, and curriculum development and implementation.
  • Maintain program compliance with Board rules and regulations, including site visits and student advocacy.
  • Develop and implement program policies and procedures.
  • Maintain faculty and student handbooks.
  • Collaborate with the Campus Director and operational teams to manage student intake, progression, and campus-wide compliance with program expectations.
  • Partner with operations leadership to create staffing models and faculty schedules that maximize instructional efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Ensure supplies and equipment meet program objectives.
  • Prepare data and written materials for required state and Board requirements, including reports, proposals, self-studies, surveys, and site visits.
  • Initiate and maintain student and faculty records throughout all phases of student academic status.
  • Work with Human Resources to maintain required documentation of faculty and staff qualifications.
  • Identify and obtain outside resources for the nursing program.
  • Organize and serve on program committees.
  • Oversee the admission process and orientation.
  • Write articulation agreements with nearby colleges detailing accepted course equivalents for transfer into Eagle Gate, Provo, and Unitek College nursing programs.
  • Serve as a liaison between the community and the college.
  • Develop and maintain educational partnerships and contracts with clinical sites.
  • Perform or delegate clinical site evaluations assessing whether agencies can provide clinical experiences meeting theory and clinical course objectives, including analysis of risks, hazards, student safety, and adequate staffing.
  • Meet with clinical faculty or agency educational representatives to confirm student numbers, faculty assignments, dates, times, clinical rotations, and clinical objectives.
  • Complete and forward Board of Registered Nursing clinical approval forms before initiating clinical rotations.
  • Ensure students, clinical site representatives, and faculty complete evaluations at the end of each clinical rotation; provide summary reports to the Dean and Chief Academic Officer and share them with the Advisory Committee.
  • Maintain minutes of inter-agency meetings.
  • Participate in nursing faculty recruitment, hiring, and orientation.
  • Ensure regular nursing faculty meetings are conducted and that meeting records and minutes are maintained.
  • Participate in conflict resolution for faculty and students.
  • Initiate and maintain community relationships, advocate for programs, and market the programs.
  • Monitor quality of instruction and participate in faculty and program review, evaluation, and strategic planning.
  • Maintain membership in and participate in professional association activities.
  • Interact with other college entities as a representative of nursing interests, including counseling, registration, and financial aid.
  • Provide advising support and degree-planning assistance to potential students.
  • Orient students to the nursing skills laboratory and clinical facilities before initiating clinical rotations.
  • Manage student appeals and grievances according to policy.
  • Participate in planning and reviewing recruitment and admission processes for qualified nursing students.
  • Advise and provide academic support to nursing students as indicated.
  • Ensure students complete required documentation and meet requirements for graduation and the licensing examination.
  • Conduct Nursing Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Monitor student performance in the program, NCLEX licensing outcomes, and job placement rates.
  • Maintain a dotted-line relationship to the Campus Director to support integration with student services, financial aid, and admissions operations.
