Requirements
  • A BA or BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in credit analysis, lending, portfolio management, risk review, or credit management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • Advanced commercial credit expertise, including analysis of complex commercial real estate, commercial and industrial, and construction lending relationships.
  • Strong understanding of commercial banking principles, loan structuring, credit risk management, regulatory expectations, and sound underwriting practices.
  • Ability to evaluate complex financial statements, tax returns, borrowing structures, collateral valuations, and diverse sources of repayment.
  • Strong organizational and workflow management skills in a relationship-driven commercial banking environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of credit-related laws and best practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Bank’s credit policy, products, and services.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to banking technologies, credit systems, and workflow platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a traditional office environment on a hybrid basis.
  • Willingness to travel to other Bank locations as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review detailed credit approval memorandums for complex lending relationships, including approval recommendations, structural enhancements, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead and develop an assigned team of Credit Analysts to support underwriting and loan decisioning in accordance with Bank policies and service level agreements.
  • Review and optimize the quality and consistency of staff underwriting and financial analysis.
  • Ensure adherence to internal credit policy, regulatory guidance, and sound banking practices while supporting prudent and consistent credit decisions.
  • Administer departmental workflows and pipeline activities for loan originations, renewals, modifications, reviews, and related actions.
  • Facilitate collaboration with commercial lenders, credit administration staff, and loan operations teams throughout the credit process.
  • Recommend credit actions and solutions, including approvals, modifications, structural changes, and risk-rating adjustments, using independent judgment.
  • Exercise independent credit approval authority in accordance with experience and established lending policy guidelines.
  • Engage with commercial lenders, loan administrators, bank team members, borrowers, and accountants when requested.
  • Comply with applicable banking regulations, Bank policies, procedures, privacy standards, and ethics standards.
  • Participate in annual compliance and job-related training.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience training or mentoring other Credit Analysts is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities, including experience mentoring analysts and fostering a collaborative credit culture.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.
