Cashmere raises $5M to connect premium publishers with generative AI

Cashmere, a data infrastructure platform connecting premium publishers with AI systems, has raised $5 million in seed funding led by Reach Capital. The round included participation from Founders Future, Fortitude Ventures, Lightshed Ventures and strategic investors Ingram Content Group, Naver Corp and Pearson Publishing. Founded to bridge the gap between premium content and generative AI, Cashmere provides infrastructure for publishers to license and deliver authoritative data to AI models. The company already works with publishers including John Wiley & Sons and Harvard Business Publishing, alongside AI companies like Perplexity. The funding follows a pre-seed round in May 2025 backed by the Perplexity Fund and F7 Ventures. Cashmere will use the investment to accelerate product development and expand within academic, professional and market intelligence publishing sectors.
