About the Job

Requirements

  • Strong expertise in SystemVerilog and Universal Verification Methodology (UVM), with a solid understanding of application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) and system-on-chip (SoC) verification methodologies.
  • Experience verifying complex digital designs, ideally including network-on-chip (NoC) architectures.
  • Proficiency in constraint-random, coverage-driven, and formal verification using SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA).
  • Analytical and detail-oriented approach, ability to debug complex issues, drive verification closure, collaborate with global design and architecture teams, and take ownership of challenging problems.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and plan verification of complex digital design blocks by fully understanding their architecture and design specifications.
  • Interact with architects and design engineers to create comprehensive verification test plans.
  • Design and architect testbenches in SystemVerilog and UVM to verify designs efficiently.
  • Create and enhance constrained-random and/or directed verification environments, and formally verify designs using SVA and industry-leading formal tools.
  • Debug tests with design engineers to deliver functionally correct design blocks.
  • Identify and write coverage measures to improve stimulus quality.
  • Perform coverage analysis to identify verification holes and achieve closure on coverage metrics.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience developing UVM, Open Verification Methodology (OVM), Verification Methodology Manual (VMM), and/or SystemVerilog or Verilog testbenches, and using simulation tools or debug environments such as Synopsys VCS and Cadence IES to test block-level or full-chip SoCs and FPGAs.
  • Strong understanding of state-of-the-art verification techniques, including assertion- and coverage-driven verification.
  • Strong understanding of different phases of ASIC and/or full-custom chip development.
  • Experience in block-level NoC verification.
  • Verification experience with protocols or technologies such as AXI3/4, DDR4/5, HBM, PCIe, processors, or graphics.
  • Experience as a verification architect establishing verification methodology, tools, and infrastructure for high-performance FPGAs, SoCs, and/or VLSI designs.
  • Experience with gate-level simulation, power verification, reset verification, contention checking, and abstraction techniques.
  • Familiarity with verification management tools and understanding of database management, particularly for regression management.
  • Experience with formal property-checking tools such as Cadence IEV, Jasper, and Synopsys VC-Formal or Magellan.

About the Company

AMD

Designs chips for computers and AI systems

AMD designs processors, graphics chips and AI accelerators for computer makers, cloud operators and businesses that build electronic devices. Its Ryzen processors power personal computers, while EPYC processors handle work in data centers and Radeon chips render graphics. Instinct accelerators run AI models, paired with software that developers use to train models and put them into production. AMD sells chips and related computing systems through equipment makers, distributors and retail channels, and contracts with outside foundries to fabricate its semiconductor designs. It was founded in 1969 and has its headquarters in Santa Clara, California.
