NEC snaps up CSG Systems and will merge it with Netcracker.

NEC snaps up CSG Systems and will merge it with Netcracker. NEC has acquired US based CSG Systems, which will be integrated into Netcracker which it also owns. May 14, 2026 CSG sells business support systems, customer experience and payment solutions to telecoms and other industries, such as financial services and healthcare, while Netcracker is described as a global leader in digital BSS and OSS solutions, AI-driven automation and cloud-native platforms. "Together, the combined business brings complementary strengths in technology, customer segments and geographic reach," says the release. Netcracker will assume responsibility for the operations and integration of CSG, which trades in software solutions for telco, broadband and digital service providers, while NEC "will support the combined organization through governance, strategic direction and global resources." The combination of the entities will bring "expanded capabilities" across customer engagement, monetisation, operations, AI-driven automation and cloud-native platforms, we're told. In terms of who will be running it, Andrew Feinberg has been appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the combined entity, as Netcracker integrates CSG's capabilities and looks to develop of "a unified, AI-driven digital portfolio." The combined portfolio is being pitched as supporting service providers looking to move toward more agile, AI-driven and cloud-native business models. The idea is to draw on NEC's global scale, and we're told "Customers will gain access to an enhanced portfolio of solutions that supports innovation, operational efficiency and the development of new digital business models." "This acquisition represents an important step toward strengthening NEC's global digital services business," said Takayuki Morita, President and CEO at NEC Corporation. "By bringing together Netcracker and CSG, we are enhancing our ability to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions that support our customers' growth and long-term transformation. NEC will continue to support the combined business through our global technology leadership, customer relationships and management resources." Andrew Feinberg, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Netcracker added: "This is a significant milestone for our customers and our organization. We are creating one of the industry's most complete digital platforms, connecting customer engagement, monetization and operations in a single environment. This allows our customers to operate more efficiently, adapt faster and increasingly leverage AI to make better decisions across their business. Together, we are well positioned to support the industry's shift toward more integrated and intelligent operating models." Earlier this year, Netcracker signed a deal with T-Mobile to plug in the former's suite of digital BSS/OSS and cloud solutions, the benefits of which were broadly described as more agility, innovation and improved customer experience for the operator's wholesale business. This laid the ground for future opportunities in AI-driven personalisation, advanced 5G monetisation and IoT services, said the firms at the time. Deputy Editor Andrew joined Telecoms.com on the back of an extensive career in tech journalism and content strategy. Prior to Telecoms.com, he held numerous editorial, content marketing and publishing roles covering various technology markets. Want more Telecoms.com stories in your Google search results? Hugo, TP among winners at 2026 Excellence in Customer Service Awards.

Hugo, TP among winners at 2026 Excellence in Customer Service Awards. PENNSYLVANIA, UNITED STATES - Hugo and TP are among the major outsourcing firms named winners at the 2026 Excellence in Customer Service Awards, joining a global lineup that includes other outsourcing firms like TELUS Digital, SS&C Intralinks, CSG and AssureSoft, with Liveops and Simply Contact rounding out the finalist field. According to a press release, the Business Intelligence Group recognized companies across more than 20 industries and multiple continents for delivering measurable, human-centered customer experiences. The awards span seven categories and reflect a customer service landscape reshaped by artificial intelligence (AI) adoption, workforce redesign, and rising accountability for results - a shift that placed outsourcing providers at the center of this year's class. Outsourcing firms lead 2026 Customer Service Awards. This year's cohort places business process outsourcing (BPO) firms front and center. Hugo took home Outsource Partner of the Year, while TP, TELUS Digital, SS&C Intralinks, CSG, and AssureSoft were also recognized across categories tied to customer experience, technology integration, and operational performance. Liveops and Simply Contact rounded out the finalist field, underscoring the depth of competition among outsourcing providers vying for enterprise contracts. "The 2026 Excellence in Customer Service Award winners are not managing customers. They are earning them," said Russ Fordyce, Chief Recognition Officer at the Business Intelligence Group. The remark frames a year in which judges weighted measurable outcomes - handle times, retention rates, SLA adherence - over brand storytelling. How AI and accountability shape the global outsourcing sector. What distinguished this year's winners, according to the organizers, was the rigor behind the results. "What stood out across this year's submissions was the accountability of the work. These are organizations and individuals who know their numbers and more importantly, they know what moved them," Fordyce said. He added that whether the tool was AI, culture change or process redesign, every winner could trace specific actions to specific outcomes. That standard reflects a broader shift across the outsourcing sector, where buyers are increasingly demanding evidence of impact rather than promises of capacity. The recognition of firms like Hugo, TP and TELUS Digital points to a market rewarding providers that combine specialized talent with AI-augmented delivery and transparent performance data. The 2026 winners' list arrives as the global outsourcing industry navigates a turning point - automation is reshaping service models, enterprise clients are tightening expectations on quality and cost, and the providers earning recognition are those proving they can scale capability and accountability in equal measure. Hugo Technologies was previously named the 2025 Outsourcing Impact Champion by Outsource Accelerator, in recognition of its groundbreaking "Hugo Academy" initiative - a program transforming education and employment pathways for African youth - alongside other BPO companies recognized for their social impact and corporate responsibility efforts. The company is also currently subscribed as an Outsource Accelerator (OA) BPO Partner. Through OA's Marketing, Sales, and Source Partner Hubs, the firm accesses a unified growth platform designed to convert high-intent prospects and accelerate deal flow in the outsourcing industry. Similarly, TP continues to cement its leadership position in the global market. The firm recently ranked number one in the OA500 2025 index, a comprehensive and objective directory published by Outsource Accelerator that evaluates and ranks the world's leading business process outsourcing providers.

"It's not enough to understand the customer - businesses must act on that knowledge in real time and prove the value of every customer interaction," said Katie Costanzo, President, Customer Experience, CSG. "That requires a unified system that turns real-time data into clear decisions, measurable outcomes, and experiences customers can trust. I am incredibly proud that CSG has been named a Leader in the inaugural Gartner Magic Quadrant for Journey Analytics & Orchestration.
