Requirements
  • Knowledge of computing languages or frameworks for scientific and engineering analysis such as C++, MATLAB, Simulink, R, or Python.
  • Creativity in problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to absorb a broad array of information from scientific and mathematical fields.
  • Ability to identify relationships between a system and its operational usage, including logistics, planning, environmental, and risk factors.
  • Ability to express yourself and ideas successfully to others in order to provide understanding.
  • Past success in providing ideas in written form for clear comprehension to an audience.
  • Previous success with collaborations in a multidisciplinary, team-oriented culture.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science is required.
  • For the intermediate professional level, 2+ years of relevant experience are required.
  • Employees must be eligible to obtain a government security clearance, participate in the ARL drug testing program, and comply with electronic and physical monitoring requirements applicable to federal contractors.
  • U.S. citizenship is required to apply.
Responsibilities
  • Work with Navy officers, engineers, scientists, and mathematicians to understand problems from multiple perspectives.
  • Plan analytical approaches to problems, develop models, execute models and simulations, and analyze results.
  • Assess future or current naval operations and systems engineering for conceptual systems.
  • Clearly communicate results to stakeholders within the laboratory or to Department of Defense or Intelligence Community sponsors.
  • Contribute to white papers and study plans for the higher-level position.
  • Perform larger tasks individually or as part of a group for the higher-level position.
  • Lead small tasks for the higher-level position.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with undersea systems and applying that experience to assess new concepts.
  • Modeling and simulation, particularly for questions involving interacting systems, applied physics, or mathematics.
  • Current eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret level or higher.
