  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in turbomachinery engineering
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of internal combustion engines.
  • Creation and maintenance of 3D models of compressor geometry.
  • Exposure to testing of engines, or powertrain components.
  • Proven expertise in the aerodynamics and thermodynamics of turbomachinery.
  • Professional experience using Siemens NX (Unigraphics) or other CAD packages
  • U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data
Responsibilities
  • Own critical turbomachinery components and be responsible for every aspect of the turbomachinery design and analysis, demonstrating ownership and work in close collaboration with manufacturing and assembly.
  • Assist in research and development regarding design of aircraft engines, engine components, advanced combustion and fuel injection systems.
  • Conduct aerodynamic and thermodynamic analysis to evaluate new and existing designs.
  • Ensure that turbomachinery solutions are developed to meet challenging manufacturing goals, minimum cost/weight and on an aggressive schedule.
  • Lead projects from conception through to testing and validation.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with air-breathing propulsion systems (Small jet engines, APUs)
  • Experience with Numerical analysis Toolsets for turbomachinery (AxStream, Concepts NREC)
  • Experience with aerodynamic rig testing techniques for turbomachinery components.
  • Experience stage matching using multistage 3D CFD (e.g. ADS, APNASA, FINE/Turbo)
  • Familiarity with Turbine Cycle Analysis (NPSS)
  • Professional experience designing, testing, or flying air-breathing combustors, augmentors, ignition systems, variable area nozzles, or turbomachinery.
