  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • 2 years of related experience and/or training in a related field (Required)
  • Current licenses and certificates required for the position including but not limited to First Aid and CPR (Required)
  • Valid Texas Driver’s license with a clear driving record and reliable transportation (Required)
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens (Required)
  • Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request (Required)
  • Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background and motor vehicle check (Required)
Responsibilities
  • Outreach and recruitment of participants for community-based education, including efforts to minimize attrition.
  • Establishes and maintains a trusting and professional working relationship with families and the target population.
  • Collaborate with all HOPES FRC staff to provide community education.
  • Conduct group-based education sessions tailored to meet the needs of the target population. Topics include but are not limited to Early Child Development, Early Literacy, Infant Care, Parenting, Community-Based Resources & Benefits, etc.
  • Conduct surveys among the program participants to help identify the most needed topics.
  • Foster supportive connections between participants.
  • Ensure transportation, childcare, and meals for participants attending education sessions are available.
  • Disseminate educational material related to topics including but not limited to parenting, and early child development, prenatal/post-partum periods, caring for infants and toddlers, etc… to participants and within the target population's community.
  • Attend community events to perform outreach and recruitment.
  • Meets with the Program Director on a bi-weekly basis to evaluate the status of the education plan.
  • Maintains timely and accurate file documentation and data entry that meets the program requirements.
  • Report any suspected abuse or neglect to the Program Director and all appropriate state and county enforcement agencies.
  • Maintains own schedule of education classes and events.
  • Identify and maintain professional relationships with clients and community partners.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-service training, and case consultations.
  • Maintains BCFS HHS professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in the employee handbook, including demonstrating respect for agency staff, the service population, and community members and complying with the required dress code, at all times.
  • Demonstrate the ability to: Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish (preferable). Work in a fast-paced environment. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position. Work effectively and without intensive supervision independently and as a multidisciplinary team member. Travel as needed. Manage time effectively and efficiently.
