Responsibilities
Operate light to heavy vehicles and equipment for installation, maintenance, and repair work, including backhoes, motor graders, compactors, trenching machines, potholing machines, bulldozers, water trucks, front-end loaders, excavators, scrapers, brush-clearing equipment, and hand tools.
Assist with labor-intensive, complex construction, maintenance, and repair work, independently or as part of a work crew, in the management and care of infrastructure and properties.
Operate equipment according to company procedures, learn and follow safety regulations, perform daily safety and maintenance checks, and participate in routine equipment maintenance.
Respond to emergency and after-hours calls on nights, weekends, and holidays.
Identify potential hazards during installation, maintenance, and repair projects and determine appropriate equipment operating procedures.
Operate tools, vehicles, and equipment safely and properly while adhering to prescribed safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Participate in work-site safety setup, including setting barricades and cones, preparing for excavation, assisting with utility locates, and preparing for confined-space entry according to standard operating procedure safety standards.
Work with the Supervisor to assist field crews or subcontractors and perform specialty programs; duties may include those of Equipment Operator I, Equipment Operator II, or Roustabout.
Assume Foreman responsibilities in the Foreman's absence.
Work shifts of up to 12 hours, work overtime as needed, and accommodate hours that may vary based on operational needs.

As an Heavy Equipment Operator I you will operate light to heavy vehicles and equipment in the installation, maintenance and repair functions associated with the assigned functional area. Assist with labor intensive, complex construction, maintenance and repair work; work independently or as part of a work crew in installation, maintenance and repair activities in the management and care of infrastructure and properties. Operate equipment that includes, but is not limited to, backhoes, Motorgrader, compactors, trenching machines, potholing machines, bulldozers, water trucks, front-end loaders, excavators, scrapers, brush-clearing equipment, and hand tools.

What You’ll Do:
✔️ Operate equipment in accordance with company procedure. Learn and follow safety regulations. Perform daily safety and maintenance checks. Participate in routine maintenance of equipment. Able to respond to emergency and after-hour calls on nights, weekends and holidays.
✔️ Identify potential hazards during installation, maintenance and repair projects; determine appropriate equipment operating procedures accordingly.
✔️ Perform in the safe and proper operation of tools, vehicles and equipment; adhere to prescribed safety standards and regulatory requirements.
✔️ Participate in work-site safety set-up, e.g., setting barricades and cones, prepping for excavation, assisting with utility locates, prepping for confined space entry in accordance with SOP safety standards.
✔️ May perform duties of Equipment Operator I, II or Roustabout. Work directly with Supervisor to assist with field crews or subcontractors and perform specialty programs.
✔️ Assumes Foreman responsibilities in his/her absence.
