Compensation Overview

What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Scout’s Process Safety Management (PSM) program
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and maintenance, to implement and enforce safety protocols for equipment and machinery
• Support risk studies including, PHA, HazOp, HAZID and other risk assessment methods to ensure safety through design
• Partner with Production and Engineering teams on process and equipment design for manufacturing
• Support Factory Acceptance testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) on newly installed or modified equipment
• Oversee change management on safety systems of existing equipment, processes, and facilities
• Maintain detailed records of equipment safety assessments, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Support and lead root cause analysis activities related to incident investigation and learning teams
• Develop and deliver training programs for employees on process safety management
• Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS Management System elements
• Ensure compliance with industry safety standards; local, state and federal regulations; and company safety policies and procedures
• Prepare and submit regular reports on safety performance and improvement initiatives.

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing equipment development and/or commissioning support role. Experience in automotive manufacturing is preferred.
• Demonstrated familiarity with chemical, mechanical, electrical, automation, and control system design
• Extensive experience working with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM), EPA Risk Management Program (RMP), and respective hazard analysis methodologies
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $120,000-$140,000
