Our mission is to develop therapies that empower the immune system to combat neurodegeneration and our team is focused on developing treatments for some of the most challenging diseases facing our society. We are supported in this mission by experienced and accomplished scientists and clinicians, a novel portfolio of programs, leading healthcare investors, and pharma company partners, who share in our commitment to bettering the lives of patients and realizing a world where we make brain disorders history
As a Senior Scientist for the antibody discovery and protein engineering (ADPE) group, you’ll work closely with scientists in both Research and Development to advance Alector programs forward. Working closely with the Protein Sciences group you will also help design and generate therapeutic reagents and biologics with favorable functional and developability profiles.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize proven knowledge in protein structural biology and biochemistry to support protein designs and optimization workflow
- Contribute to challenging reagent designs and generation for antibody discovery and engineering
- Apply computational tools and protein engineering expertise to design and execute antibody humanization, affinity, and developability optimization, as well as protein engineering strategies
- Serve as program lead and subject-area expert to coordinate data management, data analysis, and presentations, and contribute to cross-functional experimental designs, decision making in a collaborative and timeline-driven manner
- Help train and mentor junior scientists
