Requirements
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience and a bachelor's degree, or at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong understanding of cloud pricing, cost structures, and billing models.
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools and software.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and implement cloud and AI cost-management and optimization strategies across cloud service providers and technology teams.
  • Analyze cloud usage and cost trends, identify cost drivers, and provide actionable recommendations for cost optimization.
  • Develop and implement cloud resource optimization strategies, including right-sizing compute, storage, databases, and other services and using cost-effective services.
  • Work with project teams to establish and manage cloud budgets aligned with organizational objectives and key results; implement cost-management and optimization strategies.
  • Develop and maintain financial models for cloud cost allocation and set and track budgets by account, project, cost center, and business-unit requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to forecast future cloud and AI usage and costs for existing workloads and new projects or applications moving from on-premises data centers to the cloud, supporting budget planning and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and report cloud expenses and forecast future costs.
  • Engage cloud service providers to negotiate favorable pricing and contractual terms.
  • Establish and enforce cloud and AI cost-management policies, guidelines, and best practices across the organization.
  • Implement real-time monitoring of cloud and AI costs and proactively address anomalies and budget deviations.
  • Generate regular reports and dashboards to communicate cost insights, trends, and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
  • Track AI usage, costs, and efficiency, and support AI governance and strategy alignment.
  • Keep current with industry trends, new cloud services, and pricing models.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of work experience with a bachelor's degree, or more than 2 years of work experience with an advanced degree such as a master's, MBA, JD, or MD.
  • A master's or bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in a technology or cloud-computing environment.
  • At least 4 years of experience in cloud cost management and optimization in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Certification in Cloud FinOps or a related field.
  • Experience with cloud cost-management tools.
