Responsibilities
  • Serves as a professional resource and mentor.
  • Responds to Just in time requests for education at the bedside.
  • Provides advice and guidance necessary to resolve complex patient care problems.
  • Encourages and provides professional development and support for specialty certifications.
  • Promotes critical thinking and problem solving skills for the staff
  • Uses the Nursing Process as a foundation for all education and training
  • Provides orientation programs for all nursing programs.

  • Nursing Leader who serves as a participant, contributor and leader for nursing practice work groups, projects and committees.
  • Utilizes adult learning theory and concepts, and demonstrates outcome-based education.
  • Maintains flexibility with regard to hours in order to provide support to all clinical staff.
  • Works closely with IT and Informatics team to support ongoing education.
  • Works closely with Infection Prevention to support ongoing education relating to Personal Protective Equipment and IP Practices.
  • Presents in-services, classes, and learning labs to clinical employees, including providers.
  • Incorporates quality concepts into nursing practice.
  • Researches and develops standards of practice for patient population as appropriate.
  • Acts as resource to clinical staff on the use of new equipment and participates in decisions related to equipment purchases.
  • Act as a facilitator for difficult or complex nursing procedures.
  • Educates nurses to documentation that is legal and follows Copley policy utilizing nursing informatics skills.
  • Maintains and enhances clinical skills including knowledge of critical care concepts.
