Requirements
  • Have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five years.
  • Be able to use a computer to communicate via email.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and related tools and technology.
  • Have a high school diploma.
  • Have six years of relevant experience.
  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Depending on task assignments, certain permanent employees must be able to obtain a Q clearance.
  • Be able to review and analyze personnel records for relevant information and prepare summary documents.
  • Communicate effectively with Federal staff, contractor staff, and claimants.
  • Maintain secure and appropriate management of employment-information collections.
  • Be able to perform work products thoroughly and accurately, document them appropriately, and comply with mandated schedules.
Responsibilities
  • Support the EEOICPA Program Manager through all phases of program implementation.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing EEOICPA claims.
  • Prepare verifications of employment and provide support for data-capture requests from the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, Department of Labor, and other involved parties.
  • Compile complete claim packages, evaluate them for completeness, and process claims for requesting agents.
  • Provide day-to-day administration, management, and tracking of the EEOICPA claim process for Hanford and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory facilities and employees.
  • Process requests within the scope of work in a timely manner.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, copies, computer input, and documentation as requested.
  • Keep the Department of Energy Richland Operations Office Program Manager informed of work progress, issues, concerns, and other appropriate matters.
  • Ship and electronically download or upload claim-related information in accordance with Department of Energy policies and procedures.
  • Provide routine monthly status reports and other reports as requested.
  • Research Hanford past practices and history to respond to Department of Labor and National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health inquiries supporting claim development.
  • Compile and manage finding aids documenting unusual sources of employment information, including historical lists of Hanford contractors.
  • Provide verification-of-employment reports for former-contractor employees based on personnel-record review and analysis, including job-title and work-location narratives and required Department of Labor EE-5 forms.
  • Log documents and boxes into an established tracking system.
  • Move records boxes within the work area to stage them accurately for work processes.
  • Scan personnel, medical, and claim records from paper and electronic formats and merge and consolidate scanned files into electronic claim files.
  • Provide typing, scanning, and records-management support for EEOICPA claims and related functions.
  • Create documents, lists, and indices from various sources.
  • Travel locally and offsite on the Hanford Site as needed to transfer claim-related or data-capture information.

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio.
  • Ability to quickly learn additional business tools and technology.
