Epic launches cross-platform voice chat with Epic Parties. Epic Games has launched Epic Parties, a cross-platform voice chat feature that works across Fortnite, the Epic Games Store and the Epic Games app. The feature lets players join voice chats across games and devices, and move an active chat between Epic's app and Fortnite without ending the call. Epic Parties supports cross-platform communication, allowing players on different hardware to speak in the same voice chat. Voice chats can continue in the background on mobile devices and while players use other titles from the Epic Games Store. Stay ahead of the curve! Players who accept an Epic Party invite will automatically join the same Fortnite lobby when they are in the game. The rollout expands Epic's chat tools after the company introduced text chat options across its services last year. Players can start a party from their friends list, and they can turn an existing text conversation into a voice chat through a "Start Party" button in the chat window.
Fortnite players can now party up and talk to friends across other games through Epic. Epic Parties enhance the cross-ecosystem chat feature with voice chat across Fortnite, the Epic Games launcher, mobile devices, and the app. Ken coolly serves the hottest news stories and has played, we think, every game ever made. Published: September 3, 2026 1 hour ago Epic Games has just expanded its plans for cross-ecosystem chat options with the introduction of Epic Parties, which lets you virtually hang out and voice chat across Fortnite and other parts of the Epic Games Store. The new feature is an expansion of the text chat tool introduced back in December, as the publisher aims to connect up gamers in various places to contend with offerings such as Discord and Steam. Epic Parties are now accessible in Fortnite as well as through the Epic Games Store on both PC and mobile, and the Epic Games app. You're able to invite your friends into parties or join those that they've started, and can then voice chat regardless of what you're all doing. If you have a text chat going, there will be a 'Start Party' button to immediately invite all members to a voice chat. If you're in an Epic Party with someone who's playing Fortnite and you also boot up the battle royale game, you'll automatically be dropped into the same lobby as them if possible. Additionally, should you be using a different device to chat than the one you load up Fortnite on, you'll be prompted to transfer over so you can continue your conversation. Naturally, if you end up with someone in your Epic Party that you don't want there, you can mute, block, or report them. There's also the option to submit voice reports to Epic if you believe someone is violating the community code of conduct. Epic says, "Our social efforts share the same goal as Unreal Engine 6: an open ecosystem where your social connections and in-game purchases go with you from game to game. Today's update is the next step toward a unified social experience across, and beyond, the Epic ecosystem." It adds that later this year, you'll be able to take your social avatars from Fortnite into other areas of the Epic Games system. Support for Epic Parties will also be introduced to Rocket League "next year" alongside its transition to Unreal Engine 6, and Epic wants to "bring these social features to all developers, supporting all platforms, all stores, and all engines, in 2027." Of course, in the case of third-party developers it'll be up to them whether they're interested in supporting Epic Parties or the company's other proposed integrations.
Fortnite v42.10 update: release time, new Sprites, OG Season X. September 3, 2026 Fortnite v42.10 update went live on September 3, 2026, bringing a major content drop to Chapter 7 Season 4: Override. Epic Games started the update's downtime at 4 AM ET, and players got 25 new Sprites, 6 new Loot Hacks, 2 new Match Overrides, and the return of Fortnite OG Season X in the same patch. This is the first big content update since Override launched on August 20. Here is everything confirmed in the Fortnite v42.10 update so far, including new Sprite powers, Loot Hack changes, and what is coming to OG Season X. Fortnite v42.10 update release time and downtime. Epic Games began the v42.10 downtime at 4 AM ET (8 AM UTC) on September 3. Matchmaking was disabled 30 minutes before that. Epic's official status page listed the maintenance window as running until roughly 6 AM ET, though large updates can sometimes take longer to reach every platform. This patch is Chapter 7 Season 4's first major update since the Override season began on August 20, 2026. New Fortnite Sprites added on September 3. Epic Games added 25 new Sprites to Fortnite in the v42.10 update. They do not become unlockable during the main server downtime. Instead, they arrive with the daily Sprite reset at 6 AM PT, which is 9 AM ET. Only 4 of the 25 Sprites are entirely new types. The rest are Cheat Master, Gold, and Loot Hacker variants of existing or new Sprites. The X-Ray, Overshield, and Onigiri Sprites also come in Cheat Master and Gold variants, which share the same base power but scale up faster. Alongside these, Epic added 15 Loot Hacker Sprite variants tied to existing characters, including the Crown, Klombo, Jackrabbit, Killswitch, Tails, Sonic, Shadow, 8-Bit, Bushranger, Adventure, Jonesy, and Storm Scout Sprites. The exact unlock locations for the Loot Hacker Sprites have not been officially confirmed yet. New Loot Hacks in Fortnite v42.10. The update also introduces 6 new Loot Hacks, items players can use to customize their personal loot pool during a Battle Royale match. The new additions are: * Rocket Ram * Golden Banana * Tracking Visor * Holo Twister Assault Rifle * Deadeye Assault Rifle * Wrecker Revolver These replace the previous Loot Hack lineup, including the Sonic Power Sneakers. The Rocket Ram works similarly to the God Mode Llama, letting players smash through structures. New Match Overrides: Big Heads and Prop Hunt. Fortnite v42.10 adds 2 new Match Overrides for Battle Royale and Zero Build: Big Heads and Prop Hunt. The Big Heads Override previously appeared during this year's April Fool's event and gives characters oversized heads. Prop Hunt lets players hide in plain sight as objects. Fortnite OG Season X release date. Fortnite OG Season X also launched on September 3, following a rerun of the Final Showdown live event. OG Season X continues Fortnite's recreation of Chapter 1, and it brings back the B.R.U.T.E. mech and the Automatic Sniper Rifle. The OG map has been updated with points of interest from the original Season X, including Tilted Town, Starry Suburbs, and The Meteor. Epic has not confirmed exact unlock methods for every new Loot Hacker Sprite.
Studiocanal launches Classics label for catalogue titles. By Staff writer 02 September 2026 Canal+'s production and distribution arm Studiocanal has launched Studiocanal Classics, a new worldwide label for its catalogue titles. Studiocanal has one of the largest film libraries in the world, spanning more than 18,000 titles. It is the largest library outside the US, spanning 100 years of film history. Over the past seven years, Studiocanal has invested close to €25m into the 4K restoration of nearly 1,000 classic feature films. The move comes as restored films gain in popularity both with the Letterboxd generation as well as among longtime cinephiles. Studiocanal's territory footprint spans the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Benelux, Poland, Australia, and New Zealand. It also distributes in Scandinavia and South Africa, via partners. The company handles 112 theatrical releases and 170 home entertainment releases a year, and is responsible for the worldwide sales and licensing of its catalogue. Studiocanal also develops licensing partnerships, including collaborations with gaming franchises such as Terminator 2 with Epic Games' Fortnite, and Activision's Call of Duty. Recent and upcoming theatrical re-releases from Studiocanal Classics include 4k restoration of Michael Mann's Manhunter: The Final Cut, James Cameron's sci-fi action classic Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and Guillermo Del Toro's Academy Award winning Pan's Labyrinth. Anna Marsh, CEO of Studiocanal and Chief Content Officer of Canal+ Group, said: "Through expert restoration, thoughtful curation, and innovative audience engagement, we have a responsibility to preserve the enduring impact and cultural legacy of these extraordinary films and filmmakers, while bringing celebrated classics back to cinemas around the world." Hachette Livre and StudioCanal recently partnered to launch a joint venture named On Screen that will develop and scale book-to-screen adaptations. The partnership will combine the team that created the Paddington franchise with the publisher of Astérix. Discover more here.
Borderlands 4 x Fortnite: get the Lilith Bundle. Related Hubs Borderlands once again partnered with Epic Games and added the Lilith Bundle to the Fortnite Store. This is a limited-time offer running until Sep 6, 2026. The Psycho and Moxxi skins also return during this time frame. No word about whether the Diamond Pony Glider from Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is making a return. Lilith Bundle Content. The Mad Moxxi Bundle is a collection of in-game cosmetics that you can use in Fortnite. My perspective. Lilith is an awesome character. Now they kinda spoiled the ending of Borderlands 4, but hey, it has almost been a year. It's great that they added variants with and without the black inner linework and outlines. As a Borderlands fan, I would use the version that has the ink lines, but I can understand that a Fortnite player might want something that blends better with the overall art style and other cosmetic items. The Siren wings are tiny if you compare them to the ones in Borderlands, but they also have to work in Fortnite. You don't want to obscure your field of view with giant Firehawk wings. I'm a Content Creator by day and a BattleBread Baker at night. I'll provide you with your recommended slice of entertainment! I'm a Gearbox Community Badass and a proud member of the official Borderlands & Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Creator Team (2K Games / NextMakers). Let me know what you think.
