Henry Schein shares up 13% in Q2 as cost cuts and revenue growth support bullish outlook

MD Sass Concentrated Value Strategy highlighted Henry Schein as a notable contributor in its second-quarter 2026 investor letter. The healthcare solutions provider saw its shares appreciate 13% during the quarter. The asset management firm believes significant cost reductions combined with accelerating revenue growth should lead to material positive earnings revisions moving into the fourth quarter and 2027. MD Sass met with Henry Schein's new chief executive officer, Fred Lowery, and expects his distribution experience and operational approach to improve efficiencies, margins, and market share. The firm's estimates remain well above consensus over the next several years. Henry Schein closed at $89.52 per share on 28 August 2026, with a market capitalisation of $9.98 billion.

Henry Schein beats Q2 estimates with $3.46B revenue, raises full-year guidance on dental growth

Henry Schein reported second-quarter results that exceeded Wall Street expectations, with revenue of $3.46 billion versus analyst estimates of $3.37 billion and adjusted EPS of $1.27 versus $1.24 expected. The company attributed the performance to accelerating internal sales growth and robust gains in its global dental merchandise segment. CEO Frederick Lowery highlighted success in converting occasional buyers into regular customers and strong market share gains in the US and Canada. The company slightly raised its full-year adjusted EPS guidance to $5.34 at the midpoint. During the earnings call, analysts questioned the sustainability of US dental consumables growth and the timing of value creation benefits. CFO Ronald South indicated most operating income improvements from these initiatives would materialise in the second half of the year.
