- Journeyman-level skilled trade.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three to five years of Industrial Electrician or Maintenance Technician experience, with a strong background in programmable logic controllers, automation, motor control, and industrial equipment is preferred rather than required.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are preferred.
- A background in heavy industry and construction is preferred.
- Industrial Electrical or Maintenance Technician diploma or degree is considered an asset.
- Post-high-school or vocational education is desirable.
- A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree is preferred.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment is preferred.
- Perform electrical machine maintenance and repairs, including preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs.
- Create maintenance plans and schedules; troubleshoot, construct, and install electrical components for machinery and equipment.
- Work on temperature-control instruments and recording devices.
- Program programmable controllers and variable frequency drives.
- Install and build control panels to basic circuit designs.
- Apply National Electrical Code understanding, including appropriately sizing motor circuits.
- Participate in safety activities to identify and evaluate risks and hazards, share ideas to reduce them, determine safe work methods, pause to reassess when unexpected events occur, and report concerns.
- Communicate thoughts, ideas, needs, and issues relevant to assigned duties, and share day-to-day information about safety and equipment status.
- Work with engineering to lead others in executing work and projects.
- Execute troubleshooting, repairs, and installations.
- Follow reliability and maintenance roles and responsibilities and assist operators in learning and understanding Operator Basic Care.
- Apply prevention techniques to reduce risks and hazards in the manufacturing environment.
- Help improve maintenance processes and contribute to continuous improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
