About the job

Requirements
  • A completed or nearly completed university degree in business administration, economics, or a comparable field, ideally focused on accounting, controlling, or auditing.
  • Initial practical experience in tax advisory, auditing, or company accounting through a dual-study program, internship, or working-student position.
  • Ability to investigate implausible figures by seeking the underlying answer within the company rather than only correcting the accounting entry.
  • Analytical and structured working style, including breaking tasks into steps and producing traceable results.
  • Clear and reliable written and verbal communication, including communication with business owners.
  • Ability and willingness to use artificial intelligence for research, analysis, drafting, and plausibility checks.
  • Willingness to undertake independent client-mandate work and learn continuously.
Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility for the ongoing accounting of assigned client mandates, including investigating anomalies that arise from trends and comparisons across mandates.
  • Own the monthly closing process for assigned mandates and prepare value-added-tax advance returns, identifying cases requiring tax clarification.
  • Contribute to German commercial-law annual financial statements, including accruals, provisions, and changes in inventories, and gradually assume independent responsibility.
  • Prepare business-evaluation analysis meetings with business owners, including analysis, key metrics, and issues requiring discussion.
  • Develop forecasts, cost and performance accounting, and liquidity analyses for assigned mandates.
  • Work with digital document flows, automated processing, and artificial-intelligence-supported plausibility checks.
  • Identify and implement improvements that make mandate work faster and more effective.
  • Independently manage ongoing accounting and monthly closings for multiple mandates as responsibilities develop.
  • Participate in and progressively lead business-evaluation discussions with business owners.
  • Build forecasts or contribution-margin calculations for multiple mandates and use them on an ongoing basis.
  • Contribute to commercial-law annual financial statements and build them under review as responsibility increases.
Desired Qualifications
  • A focus or specialization in accounting, controlling, or auditing.
  • Previous exposure to a financial statement from within an organization.
  • Background as a tax clerk who subsequently completed a degree, early-career experience managing commercial operations in a family business, or graduate-founded-business experience involving liquidity planning.
  • Substantial access to company financial data through other relevant experience.
