  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Passion for people affected by disability and scriptural knowledge related to God’s heart for marginalized people.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and travel.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, operate a computer and standard office equipment, and communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through virtual platforms.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, bend, reach, carry materials, and set up or break down event spaces during events.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull boxes, signage, or supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Active attendance at a church whose statement of faith does not contradict the Joni and Friends statement of faith.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with Family Retreats and Getaways by supporting volunteer recruitment and organizing volunteers to complete retreat tasks before, during, and after the retreat.
  • Assist with application processes and communications for families and volunteers.
  • Support the volunteer background-check process.
  • Evaluate programs after Family Retreats and plan changes as needed.
  • Assist with Family Retreat preparation, execution, and follow-up.
  • Support the promotion, facilitation, and leadership of Joni and Friends church-equipping activities using Ministry Relations and other training materials in churches and educational settings.
  • Work with the marketing team on content for the Joni and Friends USA account and other platforms.
  • Participate in local and international Joni and Friends programs as opportunities arise.
  • Assist with logistics for the wheelchair collection program.
  • Support donor development and participate in fundraising efforts as needed.
  • Assist the Ministry Operations Manager with executing events or aspects of events.
  • Represent the ministry in the community by setting up and operating promotional efforts at area conferences and events with staff members and volunteers.
  • Perform other duties and projects assigned by the supervisor to support department and organizational needs.
  • Participate in or lead prayer and worship during meetings, events, and outreaches.
  • Model Joni and Friends’ Christian beliefs and practices to advance its gospel mission.
  • Support staff and volunteers through prayer, sharing Scripture, and faithful Christian conduct.
  • Engage with people living with disabilities with love, dignity, and conduct that commends and proclaims the gospel.
  • Affirm the Joni and Friends Statement of Faith annually and avoid conduct or religious beliefs inconsistent with it.
  • Uphold and advance Joni and Friends’ mission, vision, and values.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in camping ministry.
  • Understanding of Christian ministry and specifically Joni and Friends.
