Requirements
- A bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience or an associate degree with 10 years of experience is required.
- Five to ten years of related instrumentation and equipment experience in a GMP environment is required.
- Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Software (Blue Mountain) is required.
- Experience using Building Management Systems and Environmental Monitoring Systems (Siemens Desigo or Insight) is required.
- Must be able to wear appropriate cleanroom attire and personal protective equipment, including scrubs, gowning coverall, masks, and gloves.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must meet requirements for and be able to wear a half-face respirator.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk 90% and sit 10% of a 10-hour day, including climbing ladders or steps; crouch, bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive motions; and lift and carry objects weighing 45 pounds.
- Must be able to work in a laboratory setting with chemical and biochemical exposures, including latex and bleach, and in a cleanroom with biohazards, human blood components, and chemicals.
- The work environment may involve exposure to noise, equipment hazards, and strong odors.
- Must comply with Safety SOPs, SDS sheets, laboratory procedures, and OSHA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative, routine, and corrective maintenance of CTUs, process utility systems, and manufacturing and laboratory instruments.
- Perform routine inspections of the facility, equipment, and systems.
- Monitor, investigate, and respond to alarms generated from the BMS/QEMS.
- Support Metrology in investigating out-of-tolerance events using root cause analysis, metrics, technical knowledge, and historical experience to identify and remediate issues.
- Read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings, including floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, power plans, panel schedules, mechanical and plumbing piping diagrams, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.
- Write incident and deviation reports as necessary, perform root cause analyses, and identify corrective actions as appropriate.
- Receive, filter, and execute work order requests as necessary.
- Ensure equipment repairs and maintenance activities comply with applicable building codes.
- Work with external vendors to service and/or repair equipment.
- Provide on-call support as needed.
- Work in both office and manufacturing laboratory settings.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
- An understanding of calibration and metrology and the ability to calibrate, adjust, and maintain measuring and indicating instruments to conform to set standards.
- An understanding of PLCs, HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair them.
- Knowledge of standards for temperature, relative humidity, differential pressure, CO2, flow, conductivity, resistivity, speed, time, pressure, and weight.
- Prior experience in cell therapy manufacturing or BioPharma/Life Sciences.
- Experience working under ISO/IEC 17025 and/or ANSI/NCSL Z540.3 management systems.
- A quality mindset and familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11, standard GxP best practices, and FDA regulations.
