Requirements
  • A B.S. degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering, or a four-year degree in Construction or Environmental Management, with 7+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in heavy construction, including civil infrastructure, site work, roads, bridges, environmental projects, support of excavation, cast-in-place and pile foundations, underground utility systems, or sewer and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment while accurately processing documents and completing duties in a timely manner.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic document access and construction management software such as Procore.
  • Familiarity with financial management and accounting software such as Viewpoint.
  • Familiarity with project critical path method scheduling software such as Primavera P6.
  • Proficiency in interpreting plans and specifications and developing construction schedules.
  • Experience leading and developing subordinates into positions of advancement.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain TWIC, DBIDS, or similar credentials for access to restricted or government sites.
Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership for assigned projects and serve as the primary point of contact with the customer.
  • Carry out company policies and procedures with the Superintendent(s) and Project Engineer(s) to achieve company and customer objectives.
  • Ensure overall job safety according to the SSHASP for each assigned project.
  • Ensure projects meet or exceed OSHA standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including AHA's and Toolbox Talks.
  • Participate in preparing and presenting Toolbox Talks and Safety Huddles.
  • Enter daily safety reports in systems such as Procore.
  • Review Arrowsight footage and corrective action plans.
  • Conduct routine safety leadership walks with safety personnel and implement corrective action plans.
  • Promote a safety culture across the project, including subcontractors and other stakeholders.
  • Verify Miss Utility One Call Center requests are made and completed before ground-disturbing work.
  • Ensure test holes and other methods are used to avoid incidents involving known utilities.
  • Report utility-line incidents to the Project Executive or Division Manager.
  • Lead Safety Stand-Downs and assist with root-cause analyses of incidents and injuries.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and orderly storage of materials and equipment at the jobsite.
  • Perform daily and weekly quantity reviews.
  • Perform weekly and monthly cost-detail reporting.
  • Use HeavyJob for timecard entry and production planning.
  • Use HeavyBid reports.
  • Prepare monthly payment applications and reconcile them with the client.
  • Track and report extra work or non-contract work to the Project Executive or Division Manager.
  • Lead the change-management process, including client notices, change orders, time-impact analyses or delay claims, and documentation.
  • Review and approve payables, including subcontractor and vendor invoices.
  • Ensure payroll and equipment information is accurate.
  • Lead and prepare monthly or quarterly cost estimates and forecasts.
  • Ensure subcontracts and purchase orders are executed on time and meet company and client requirements.
  • Ensure employee-utilization and small, disadvantaged, and minority business goals and routine reporting are satisfied.
  • Ensure certified payroll and other employee-compliance requirements are met.
  • Lead development of and approve the project critical path method schedule.
  • Review and approve weekly project look-ahead schedules.
  • Ensure look-ahead schedules align with the approved baseline critical path method schedule.
  • Lead monthly updating and submission of the critical path method schedule.
  • Assist the Superintendent in coordinating work with subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate utility requirements with providers.
  • Participate in problem-solving and value-engineering planning.
  • Review and approve work packages for field use.
  • Lead and represent the company in meetings with the owner, project partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Meet regularly with Superintendents and Project Engineers to review and coordinate upcoming work and needs, including equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Understand bid assumptions and communicate production goals to the team.
  • Ensure material deliveries and long-lead-time items support the production schedule.
  • Work with the Superintendent to ensure deliverables and objectives are achieved.
  • Use the tools and processes in the Project Management Manual to fulfill project deliverables.
  • Coordinate with Project Engineers and Superintendents to ensure conformance with contract documents.
  • Ensure routine SWPPP inspections are completed and corrective actions are documented.
  • Ensure corrective actions address nonconforming work.
  • Ensure accountability for quality throughout the project.
  • Maintain project records in the project system and in hard copy as required in the field office.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least two years as a Project Manager on projects valued at least $10 million.
