Requirements
  • A BS/BA degree in engineering, science, or business management, or an accredited high school certificate plus 8 years of specialized experience in engineering, science, or business management.
  • Fourteen years of directly applicable successful experience as a management consultant or senior manager interfacing and working with organizational executives and senior management, or senior technical or business individuals, within government or industry on significant management, technical, or business issues.
  • Highly experienced in quality assurance audits and quality assurance program implementation.
  • Working-level knowledge of quality assurance-related controls and requirements.
  • Working-level knowledge of Department of Energy policies and procedures.
  • Expertise-level knowledge of the Hanford Site mission, activities, and priorities.
  • Expertise-level knowledge of Department of Energy program and project management practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Expert writing skills and proven experience supporting programs and projects with analysis, tracking, monitoring, assessment, review, and coordination.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Identification of conflicts, potential conflicts, or perceived conflicts of interest with Hanford Site contractors.
  • Full vaccination against COVID-19, a granted exception, or the ability to meet entry and testing requirements for federal buildings.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Understanding and proficiency with business tools and technology, including Microsoft Office; advanced proficiency with Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word, and proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, data analytic tools, and Visio.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Office of River Protection in managing and overseeing the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant High-Level Waste project in accordance with Department of Energy Orders, Hanford procedures, and the Office of River Protection Quality Assurance Program Description.
  • Function as a quality assurance auditor, program support specialist, and startup, commissioning, and operations support resource for High-Level Waste quality assurance programs.
  • Provide oversight support for external and internal auditing efforts for High-Level Waste, including performing as a qualified auditor in Quality Assurance Division independent audits or surveillances.
  • Provide quality-related oversight support as an oversight team member or lead to Federal Project Directors addressing performance issues and verifying completion of High-Level Waste facility milestones.
  • Conduct reviews of contractor actions addressing Department of Energy Inspector General recommendations for High-Level Waste.
  • Conduct effectiveness reviews of contractor actions and Inspector General recommendations for High-Level Waste.
  • Review and comment on new and revised Quality Assurance Division procedures and oversight reports for High-Level Waste to ensure high technical quality.
  • Review causal analyses and actions taken to prevent recurrence of conditions adverse to quality for High-Level Waste.
  • Participate on High-Level Waste Integrated Project Teams as required.
  • Prepare a weekly report addressing work accomplished and deliverable progress for the technical monitor.
  • Prepare a monthly report combining weekly status reports and documenting deliverable progress, submission dates during the invoice period, and contractor employee work schedules including leave taken.
