Requirements
  • Associates degree in Nursing is required.
  • Up to one year of nursing experience is required.
  • Active TX RN License required.
  • Active CPR/BLS required.
  • Demonstrates the ability to function within the required nursing process as defined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
  • Demonstrates the ability to support the mission, vision and patient promise throughout all interactions.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively, written and verbally.
  • Demonstrates analytical thinking – this role requires analyzing information and using logic to coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates the ability to participate as an integral part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing the highest quality of care to the patient.
  • Required certifications must remain current and valid.
Responsibilities
  • Provides direct nursing care to patients in a clinic setting to include: Preparing equipment and aiding physician during treatment and examination of patients, performing complex medical testing and providing interpretations of results, consulting with physicians and implementing treatment plans.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments, observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions.
  • Develops protocols and procedure manuals.
  • Performs daily maintenance checks and the preparation of rooms, instruments, supplies and performs or schedules routine maintenance of equipment.
  • Documents patient care and treatment and assists with training of staff.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to serve as a preceptor and a mentor by fostering a teaching environment. Position eligible for preceptor premium pay with completion of preceptor education and leader approval.
