Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One year of legal or general office experience is required.
  • Excellent legal writing skills are required.

  • Excellent legal research skills are required, including working knowledge of electronic legal research platforms such as Lexis and Westlaw and printed research materials.

Responsibilities
  • Proofread Certifications of Service and other service documents.
  • Create, maintain, and update certificates of service for Public Service Commission filings.
  • Prepare coversheets for Public Service Commission rulemaking filings.
  • Arrange for legal advertisements to be placed in appropriate newspapers.
  • Create bulletins in GovDelivery.
  • Process third-party tariff filings.
  • Open new dockets in the Commission's Replacement Electronic Database for Docket Information.
  • Finalize Public Service Commission filings for uploading into the Replacement Electronic Database for Docket Information.
  • Accept or reject third-party filings.
  • Exchange documents with document remediation contractors.
  • Monitor deadlines for the return of documents from document remediation contractors.
  • Negotiate deadlines with document remediation contractors as appropriate.
  • Upload public records request information to the Commission website.
  • Update rulemaking information on the Commission website.
  • Handle IT matters during public Commission meetings, hearings, and listening sessions.
  • Provide backup coverage for front desk services.
  • Assist with troubleshooting Replacement Electronic Database for Docket Information problems.
  • Prepare training materials for using the Replacement Electronic Database for Docket Information.
  • Create and edit website content.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
