Senior Backend Developer
About the job
- Hold or be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI clearance and be eligible for a CI polygraph.
- Have 9–13 years of backend software development experience.
- Have experience working in Agile environments.
- Have experience using GitLab as a source-code repository and using GitLab CI/CD.
- Demonstrate proficiency in at least two of the following: Python application or API development; FastAPI; building high-performance applications in React.js; web services architecture, design, and development; PostgreSQL database design; or Amazon Web Services and related tools including S3, DynamoDB, SQS, and SNS.
- Have experience developing customized code, scripts, modules, macro procedures, or libraries for specialized spatial-analysis functions using languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, PHP, C, C++, C#, Perl, or similar.
- Develop, modernize, and maintain software applications and services.
- Contribute to the design and architecture of high-performance applications.
- Leverage Agile methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Participate in rapid prototyping to quickly iterate and improve solutions.
- Use modern technology stacks to meet client needs.
- Implement continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines using GitLab.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Work independently with clients or stakeholders to develop user stories for full-service consumer and business applications.
- Have experience with government or commercial imagery products, including synthetic-aperture radar or related radar-imaging technologies.
- Have experience working with and developing geospatial information systems using open-source and proprietary geospatial formats.
- Have experience using and developing with geospatial tools, data, and operating platforms such as Boundless Spatial Suite, Remote View, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, Image Server, File Geodatabases, KML, KMZ, NITF, TIFF, JPEG, GeoPDF, ESRI, or OpenGeo Suite.
- Have experience abstracting new or legacy systems through standards-based APIs, including Open Geospatial Consortium standards.
- Have experience developing terrain-analysis visualizations and algorithms, developing automated-detection algorithms, or using Argo Workflows.
- Hold a Certified ScrumMaster certification.
- Hold an Agile Certified Practitioner certification from the Project Management Institute.
