Circle K and Starbucks planned for Lincoln's Joiner Parkway.

Circle K and Starbucks planned for Lincoln's Joiner Parkway. The convenience store and drive-thru coffee shop would share a two-acre site. Published Date: October 5, 2026, 5:19 PM EDT Circle K is planning a new gas station and convenience store at the corner of Joiner Parkway and First Street in Lincoln, paired with a Starbucks drive-thru on the same site. A recent California ABC filing for an off-sale general license, which covers beer, wine and spirits sales, points to the project moving toward an opening, though no date has been announced. The two businesses would split a two-acre property into separate one-acre parcels, with Circle K taking one lot for fuel pumps and a convenience store and Starbucks taking the other for a quick-service restaurant with a drive-through. The project is being developed by Green River Partners, which filed its plans with the City of Lincoln in June. The convenience store brand is one of the largest convenience store operators in the world. The chain already lists a Lincoln station on North Service Road, so the Joiner Parkway store would give it a second presence in the city, this time closer to the downtown corridor. The pairing of a fuel stop and a drive-thru coffee shop has become a common format for Circle K in California. The company has been building new stores alongside Starbucks drive-thrus in other parts of the state, including a recently built combination in Cathedral City. Lincoln has continued to add retail and food options as its population grows. A new fuel and coffee stop near the First Street and Joiner Parkway intersection would add a convenient option for commuters and residents on that side of town, with the alcohol license covering the beer, wine and spirits that Circle K stocks at most of its stores. 7-Eleven, Circle K accused of overcharging customers across the US.

7-Eleven, Circle K accused of overcharging customers across the US. Two major convenience store chains have been wrongly charging customers exorbitant prices, studies show. An investigation by the Guardian revealed that 7-Eleven and Circle K have been overcharging customers for years, including food and alcohol sales. The investigation discovered widespread false advertising at both chains, with customers being charged more than the prices listed on shelves and sale signs. Furthermore, these price discrepancies greatly differed state to state. The report found Circle K failed 35 percent of price-accuracy inspections in Florida, 62 percent in North Carolina, and 82 percent in Columbus, Ohio, between 2023 and 2025. 7-Eleven also failed price-accuracy inspections at an alarming rate. The Slurpee-serving store failed 47 percent of inspections in Colorado and Utah and a whopping 79 percent in Ontario County, New York. 7-Eleven, Circle K face damning allegations. Both convenience stores released statements following the investigation. "Delivering value and maintaining trust amongst our customers is a top priority. We take pricing accuracy very seriously," a spokesperson for 7-Eleven said, per the Guardian. A spokesperson for Circle K said that the company is "committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations". The spokesperson said the chain's mission "is to make our customers' lives a little easier every day. So their satisfaction is a top priority. We take customer concerns seriously and are always working to improve their experience in our stores." For Circle K, this is not the first time this year the franchise made headlines for overcharging customers. Over the summer, a Circle K shopper was promoted to make an $8 billion dollar donation while purchasing hot dogs. During checkout, an AI-powered self-checkout kiosk added an $8 billion donationto a customer's order. The shopper shared a picture of the staggering donation amount on Reddit, saying, "I just wanted a hot dog." According to the customer, the kiosk prompted him to make a multi-billion-dollar donation to the Red Cross. "Yesterday, tho, it threw this little gem in thinking I wouldn't notice an $8.5 Billion Donation to the Red Cross," they wrote. "Don't get me wrong, I like what they do and all, but this is a bit much."

The Briad Group announces anticipated grand opening of first multi-brand Circle K travel center in Binghamton, New York.

The Briad Group announces anticipated grand opening of first multi-brand Circle K travel center in Binghamton, New York. An innovative convenience destination featuring Circle K, Wendy's, Dunkin' and Papa Johns Watertown, New York location is under construction and expected to open in January 2027 BINGHAMTON, N.Y.-(BUSINESS WIRE)-The Briad Group, a leading hospitality and retail developer based in Livingston, New Jersey, today announced the anticipated grand opening of its first multi-brand Circle K travel center, located at 265 Court Street in Binghamton, New York, scheduled for Fall 2026. A second multi-brand Circle K travel center in Watertown, New York is under construction and expected to open in January 2027. The Binghamton and Watertown developments mark the first in a planned series of next-generation convenience and travel centers that will bring together fuel services, convenience retail, and nationally recognized quick-service restaurants under one roof. Strategically located near Interstates 81 and 86, the 6,800-square-foot travel center in Binghamton will feature a Circle K convenience store with eight fuel pumps, and two dedicated drive-thru lanes - one for Dunkin' and one for Wendy's. The location will also offer a non-traditional Papa Johns branded pizza product, providing travelers with an additional convenient food option alongside the center's other restaurant offerings. The building layout was custom-engineered by The Briad Group's in-house engineering team specifically for this partnership, creating a streamlined, single-tenant design that integrates all four brands into one modern travel center experience. The development also reflects the growing shift toward fuel mobility - the transformation of traditional, single-purpose gas stations into integrated mobility hubs offering fueling and nationally recognized food, convenience retail and other services designed around the evolving needs of today's travelers. The Binghamton location represents the first of a planned rollout of new Circle K travel centers across the New York region, with The Briad Group expecting to develop up to 40 locations as part of its long-term franchise development agreement with Circle K. Peachtree Group provided development financing for the Binghamton and Watertown projects as part of a broader financing relationship with The Briad Group. Peachtree has committed up to $200 million to support The Briad Group's development and acquisition of new convenience stores and mini-travel center sites over the next several years. "This project represents an exciting new chapter for Briad as we expand into the convenience and fuel sector with innovative nationally recognized multi-brand restaurant concepts," said Brad Honigfeld, CEO of The Briad Group. "Our goal is to create modern travel destinations that offer speed, convenience, and great food options in one location, delivering a superior experience for travelers and the local community alike." Construction on the Binghamton site began in early 2026 and Watertown in June of 2026. The travel center will offer a modern roadside destination combining fuel services, convenience retail, and nationally recognized restaurant brands in a single, efficient location. The Binghamton and Watertown grand openings will celebrate the launch of this new concept in the Northeast and introduce a travel-center model that has proven successful in other regions but remains largely untapped across the New York region. More information about grand opening celebrations, community partnerships, and opening-day events will be announced in the coming months. Circle K opts for load management from FLEXeCHARGE.

Circle K opts for load management from FLEXeCHARGE. Fuel and charging infrastructure operator Circle K will now cooperate with software provider FLEXeCHARGE. As part of a new partnership, cloud-based load management will be implemented for 1,000 charging points across several European markets. By Florian Treiss 28.09.2026 - 16:30 For Danish company FLEXeCHARGE, the mandate from Circle K represents one of its largest contracts to date in the charge point operator (CPO) sector. At the same time, this marks the first large-scale deployment of its HARMON-E software solution in a "headless" architecture. This headless version of HARMON-E is for large CPOs that already have mature internal platforms and want to integrate specialised energy-management functionality directly into their own technology stack. Circle K already has an established energy management system for its charging network. The collaboration therefore represents a supplier change for a clearly defined subset of the existing energy management functionality with load management. Instead of introducing an additional operational platform, Circle K is using FLEXeCHARGE in a headless setup. The HARMON-E software handles load management functionality in the background, while the relevant data and features are integrated directly into Circle K's proprietary systems and dashboards via interfaces (APIs). FLEXeCHARGE integrates with Circle K's systems. This approach allows Circle K to maintain its existing workflows and familiar user interface. Hallgeir Horne, Senior Manager Charging Infrastructure at Circle K, explained: "We already have our own systems and established workflows for managing our charging network. We therefore needed a load-management supplier that could fit into that environment rather than introduce another interface. The headless setup allows us to work with FLEXECHARGE at scale while keeping the operational experience within our own systems." Circle K is part of the Canadian retail and fuel station group Alimentation Couche-Tard, which operates nearly 17,300 locations across 27 countries and regions. In Europe, the brand is present in Scandinavia, the Baltics, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Poland - and in 2023, it acquired TotalEnergies' fuel station network in Germany and the Netherlands, with charging stations added later. In Germany, Circle K has now reached the milestone of 100 fast-charging sites in June. In Sweden, the company states it is the preferred charging provider with over 1,000 charging points. Across Europe, its charging network most recently comprised more than 4,400 charging points. 0 comments. about "Circle K opts for load management from FLEXeCHARGE"
