Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years of inspection experience in aerospace or manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including multi-sheet drawings and complex assemblies.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.
  • Experience verifying drawing and purchase order revision alignment.
  • Ability to identify critical or key characteristics and inspection points.
  • Strong understanding of measurement techniques and inspection methods.
  • Experience validating special processes such as plating, anodizing, heat treatment, and coatings.
  • Ability to correlate engineering requirements to physical product and documentation.
  • Proficiency with inspection tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Active or previously held J-STD-001 certification, with willingness to recertify.
  • Active or previously held IPC-A-610 certification, with willingness to recertify.
  • Strong communication skills for documenting and communicating non-conformances.
  • Willingness to use a personal laptop for SAP, SPP, or equivalent reporting systems.
  • Willingness to use a personal cell phone for coordination.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Compliance with supplier personal protective equipment and safety requirements.
  • Ability to adapt to multiple commodities and evolving program needs.
  • Ability to stand, sit, kneel, and maneuver as needed, and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • For 1099 engagement, an established LLC or DBA with an EIN, or ability to obtain one within 90 days.
Responsibilities
  • Perform onsite inspections at one or more supplier facilities.
  • Conduct visual, dimensional, and documentation inspections on parts, assemblies, and subassemblies.
  • Validate compliance with engineering drawings and specifications, purchase orders and revision levels, quality notes, statements of work, and industry and customer requirements.
  • Review and verify Certificates of Conformance, material traceability and test reports, and special process documentation.
  • Perform or review First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102.
  • Use Acceptable Quality Limit sampling and standard inspection techniques.
  • Identify and document non-conformances and support rework or reject disposition as required.
  • Complete inspection reporting in customer and Verify systems, including SAP and SPP or equivalent systems.
  • Communicate inspection status and issues clearly to suppliers and internal teams.
  • Represent Verify and the customer as the final quality gate at supplier facilities.
  • Perform source inspection, testing, surveillance, mandatory in-process inspection points, serial number verification, and production-process and documentation review before shipment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting defense or aerospace programs with strict compliance requirements, documentation validation, and supplier engagement expectations.
  • At least five years of hands-on inspection experience across one or more aerospace or defense commodities, including mechanical components and complex machined parts, electrical and electronic components, printed wiring boards and circuit card assemblies, cable assemblies and wire harnesses, fasteners and hardware, RF or microwave components, computer hardware or assemblies, or energetics and controlled materials.
  • Willingness to support both local and regional suppliers as needed to meet customer demand.
