Requirements
  • At least 8 years of networking engineering or architecture experience, including at least 3 years in a design-focused or architecture role.
  • Experience designing enterprise networking solutions at scale across multi-site, multi-vendor, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Expert-level knowledge of routing and switching using Cisco and Juniper technologies.
  • Expert-level knowledge of security-edge technologies including Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Check Point.
  • Expert-level knowledge of SD-WAN technologies including Meraki, VeloCloud, and Fortinet Secure SD-WAN.
  • Expert-level knowledge of wireless technologies including Cisco, Aruba, and Meraki.
  • Proficiency in cloud networking and interconnect architectures, including AWS Transit Gateway, Azure Virtual WAN, and hybrid connectivity patterns.
  • Experience with SASE frameworks such as Zscaler or Prisma Access, or equivalent, and SDN architecture.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven network management and automation platforms such as Cisco Catalyst Center, Aruba Central, or Auvik.
  • Experience with network automation using Ansible, Python-based configuration management, or equivalent tooling.
  • Ability to produce architecture diagrams, design guides, and decision records that others can execute against.
Responsibilities
  • Own the networking architecture library, including reference designs, standard configurations, and approved patterns for LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, firewall, and wireless deployments.
  • Own the networking technology roadmap, including vendor assessments, platform decisions, and capability investments.
  • Review and approve major customer solutions before they reach delivery.
  • Serve as the technical voice in pre-sales for complex or strategic networking engagements.
  • Define and maintain reference architectures for LAN/WAN, firewall and security-edge, SD-WAN, wireless, and cloud networking interconnects.
  • Establish and govern design standards and configuration patterns used across managed-services customer environments.
  • Lead design reviews for complex or high-risk customer deployments.
  • Develop and maintain standard designs, build guides, and approved technology patterns for engineering and delivery personnel.
  • Define the review and approval process for non-standard designs and exceptions.
  • Evaluate emerging platforms, assess vendor trajectory, and recommend networking technology investments.
  • Assess and pilot new networking platforms, including SD-WAN, SASE, and AI-driven network management.
  • Make technical decisions regarding networking platforms and vendor selections.
  • Provide input to business cases for new networking service offerings.
  • Partner with Solution Architects on complex and strategic pre-sales engagements.
  • Review and validate customer solution designs before proposals.
  • Support proof-of-concept and design workshops for key prospects and strategic expansion opportunities.
  • Represent networking architecture capabilities in customer QBRs and technology roadmap discussions.
  • Develop reusable proposal content, architecture diagrams, and technical narratives.
  • Lead adoption of automation frameworks and AI-driven tooling for network provisioning, configuration management, and performance monitoring.
  • Eliminate manual touchpoints in the delivery lifecycle through design-level automation.
  • Drive adoption of AI-enabled anomaly detection and performance monitoring to reduce customer downtime and improve mean time to resolution.
  • Collaborate with practice technology leadership to align automation investments across networking, compute, and security.
  • Represent networking standards, roadmap decisions, and design direction in the monthly Services Governance Forum.
  • Ensure architecture decisions and design patterns are documented, version-controlled, and accessible to the delivery team.
  • Develop training content and knowledge-transfer materials for the engineering team.
  • Mentor engineers on design thinking, architecture principles, and standards adherence.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in managed services, professional services, or consulting.
  • CCIE in Enterprise Infrastructure, Routing and Switching, or Security, or an equivalent expert-level certification.
  • Cisco CCNP Enterprise, Palo Alto PCNSE, or Fortinet NSE 7/8 if CCIE is not held.
  • Cloud networking certifications such as AWS Advanced Networking Specialty or Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer.
