Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • Have 0–2 years of modality-specific experience; the description also states one year of radiologic experience.
  • Be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), with ARRT MRI registration required within one year, or hold American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist registration.
  • Hold a South Carolina radiation license through the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association.
  • Hold current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or an American Red Cross CPR/AED certification for professional rescuers and healthcare providers.
  • Be able to produce high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
  • Be familiar with age-specific criteria.
Responsibilities
  • Operate MRI equipment, prepare patients’ rooms, and produce quality diagnostic images for inpatients and outpatients within the Radiology Department under the direction of a radiologist.
  • Perform high-quality MRI examinations for the entire patient population, from neonates through geriatric patients, for physician interpretation.
  • Proactively maintain and renew ARRT registration, the state license, Basic Life Support certification, PPD, respirator fit testing, and point-of-care training.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is preferred.
