Work Arrangement:

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren Tech Center three times per week, at minimum.

The Role:

The General Motors Design Asset Creation team is seeking a Virtual Developer to aid in creating 2D and 3D customer facing visual assets and experiences for the company. This role will allow you to be at the forefront of immersive technology and shape how customers interact with our brands online. You will join a team of Data Specialists, Visualization Designers, Lighting Experts, Modelers, Developers and Material Experts who collaborate to achieve a realistic vision for General Motors.

We are seeking candidates who thrive on problem solving and have the drive to help bring our vision to life to ensure the success of each vehicle and pipeline. A passion for the automotive field that helps strengthen & transcend the understanding of vehicle customization and configuration is a must.

What You’ll Do:

• Continuously brainstorming new ideas of how we can excite customers with 2D and 3D experiences utilizing a variety of visualization software.
• Framework and grow configuration engines that allow for an accurate visual representation of customer vehicles.
• Create tools and pipeline efficiencies that power our market experiences. Test and maintain process improvements/efficiencies via life-cycling development.
• Help affect decision making by enabling quicker CAD to visualization pipelines.
• Write clean, modular & reusable code to enable multiple groups throughout the organization.

Additional Job Description

• Bachelor’s degree preferred/equivalent industry related experience considered, Experience (3+ years)
• Experience & proficiency in coding languages (Python, C++, JavaScript, HTML5 etc.)
• Experience in Microsoft, UNREAL Engine, VRED and DeltaGen preferred
• Ability to comprehend multiple ideas and use cases to problem solve via various visualization software (Unreal Engine, Deltagen, Omniverse, etc.)
• Independently lead and generate technical solutions for pipeline and process improvements for multiple groups within the organization.
• Ability to understand the need for tools/scripts and act upon bringing innovation to the team.
• Able to understand a CGI rendering pipeline and affect day to day with efficiencies and tool development.
• Ability to work independently with a small group of developers and collaborate across the GM enterprise.
• Able to work positively and effectively in a team environment. Strive to build positive relationships among peers.
• Knowledge in TeamCenter is a plus
