The Team
•\tVLL, in line with its industry peers operates a 3 Lines of Defence(3LOD) risk management model.
•\tThis role is within the 1st Line Risk and Controls Team.
•\tThe Team supports both the Technology and Operations (T&O) functions to ensure compliance to VLL risk management policies and standards including the Control Management Framework
•\tThe Team manages the T&O 1LoD agenda, oversees the governance activities, and provides visibility through reporting and dashboards at all organisational levels. It supports the T&O teams in ensuring consistency in methodology use, assessment processes, and reporting against plans/results, while promoting risk awareness and a proactive risk culture.
•\tThe team operates separately from business operations to ensure that control testing is conducted independently.
•\tThis is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team whose remit covers the breadth of VLL’s operation with exposure to senior stakeholders across the organisation.
Role overview
•\tConduct Control Testing across T&O domains
•\tCollaboration with Control Owners and Operators
•\tSupport and education on Control Testing to 1LoD teams
•\tReporting on progress against plan, results and follow-up activities
•\tReporting key risk information to appropriate governance forums
Responsibilities of the role
•\tConducting control testing across Technology & Operations (T&O) domains in line with the Annual Test Schedule, the VLL Controls Management Framework, supporting processes, and governance
•\tCollaboration with Control Owners and Operators to gather evidence, identify control gaps, and documenting issues and actions to close any identified gaps
•\tIdentifying areas for improvement to ensure effective, efficient and visible processes and supporting documentation
•\tCollaboration with colleagues from the 1.5 and 2nd line risk functions
•\tConsolidating, reviewing and reporting key Control Testing information to appropriate governance forums, key stakeholders and 2LOD functions
•\tSupporting the development and/or implementation of applicable procedures to enable effective 1LOD adoption of VLL’s risk management policies and processes
•\tSupporting and deputising for the Director of 1st Line Risk & Controls in the discharge of their responsibilities, including performance management and mentoring/coaching of team members as required
•\tPresent and engage effectively with senior leaders across Vocalink and Mastercard
Relevant experience
•\tExperienced in control testing in a Technology environment [Mandatory]
•\tInvestigative and analytical experience (e.g. enquiry, scanning, analysis, interviewing, testing) [Mandatory]
•\tCreation and presentation of reporting on control data/plan schedule for audiences at all levels [Mandatory]
•\tStakeholder management in an environment with competing priorities [Mandatory]
•\tExperience in delivering presentations and engaging with senior leadership at the Executive level and above [Preferred]
Relevant skills
•\tExcellent communication skills (both written and oral)
•\tExcellent reporting and presentation skills
•\tAbility to self-start, problem-solve and motivate/lead other team members
•\tAbility to prioritise and plan workload based on Business needs and outcome
•\tAbility to remain calm and focused when working under pressure
•\tA flexible yet delivery-orientated mindset
•\tAdept use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & SharePoint
