A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline.
At least 10 years of experience in the substation or power distribution sector is required.
Working knowledge of substation configurations, system protection, power system analysis, renewable generation, utility interconnections, and renewable project development is required.
Technical ability in substation physical design, substation controls design, supervisory control and data acquisition, telemetry, and communication settings is required.
Candidates must have access to a reliable high-speed internet connection with a minimum download speed of 500 Mbps.
A Professional Engineer license is preferred.
Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with clients, contractors, project managers, and other engineers.
Develop and produce designs and drawings for all aspects of substation design, including physical layouts and protective and control design considerations.
Develop bills of material for brownfield and greenfield substation projects.
Specify materials for substation designs, including power transformers, breakers, disconnect switches, capacitors, conductors, and bus work.
Provide construction support for substation construction projects both in person and remotely.
Collaborate with coworkers and clients and develop relationships that build trust in the company.
