Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required; four years of additional software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may substitute for the degree.
  • A TS/SCI Clearance with polygraph is required.
  • Solid experience with Python is required.
  • Proven project management experience within an operations-related field.
  • Proven ability and experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, work breakdown structures, failure mode and effects analysis, risk analysis, Planisware, and SAP for budget tracking.
  • Experience with Angular 12 or 13, TypeScript, Python 3, Pandas, Python Imaging Library/Pillow, Wand/ImageMagick, Kubernetes, Docker, and K9s.
Responsibilities
  • Design or implement complex algorithms that adhere to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints and perform quality control on team products.
  • Confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and obtain information on project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
  • Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met.
  • Implement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems, including processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems, based on documented requirements.
  • Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results.
  • Resolve software problem reports.
  • Use software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
  • Provide input to software components of system design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of commercial or government off-the-shelf software instead of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
  • Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.
  • Debug existing software and correct defects.
  • Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
  • Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
  • Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.
  • Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.
  • Write or review software and system documentation.
  • Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, conferring with users or system engineers, analyzing system flow, data usage, and work processes, and investigating problem areas.
  • Serve as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process used on a project.
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance.
  • Design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure design outcomes and consequences.
  • Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces and queries.
  • Oversee one or more software development teams and ensure work is completed within the constraints of the software development process used on the project.
  • Serve as the technical lead of multiple software development teams.
  • Select the software development process in coordination with the customer and systems engineering.
  • Recommend new technologies and processes for complex software projects.
  • Ensure quality control of all developed and modified software.
  • Delegate programming and testing responsibilities to one or more teams and monitor their performance.
  • Provide support to the development and maintenance of tools on the user-interface team.
  • Support the transition to cloud capability.
