Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in an applicable discipline and experience relative to project size and scope.
  • At least 4 years of experience in related construction fields.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee, manage, and document all day-to-day MEP job site activities, including OSHA safety compliance.
  • Direct field personnel according to the project plan and Suffolk supervisory principles.
  • Communicate issues, events, performance, and progress daily to the Project Manager.
  • Report problems promptly to the Project Manager to facilitate the most cost-effective solutions.
  • Establish effective working relationships with clients and Suffolk team members.
  • Request advice and assistance from the General Superintendent on matters pertaining to materials, sequencing, scheduling, and personnel.
  • Identify pre-mobilization activities in conjunction with the Project Executive, General Superintendent, and Project Manager.
  • Develop the start-up schedule with the Project Manager and send it to the Project Executive and General Superintendent for review.
  • Assist in formulating and implementing construction schedules in the field.
  • Establish and implement the Project Baseline Schedule based on project contracts and subcontractor input, taking into account elements that might impact the schedule.
  • Maintain the schedule and ensure that work performed is consistent with the contract and will meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Update the Project Schedule monthly.
  • Provide a progress report with the two-week schedule look-ahead to the Project Manager and field staff.
  • Ensure that all subcontractors participate in a safety pre-construction meeting before starting work on the project.
  • Ensure that all subcontractors have a full set of material safety data sheets on the project, their site-specific safety plan, and a current insurance certificate or OCIP/CCIP enrollment ID.
  • Review the project daily to ensure that all activities are performed in accordance with OSHA and governing requirements and the site-specific safety plan.
  • Review safety reports and injury data to assess safety performance on assigned projects.
  • Ensure that projects are budgeted and staffed appropriately to support safety programs.
  • Communicate clear safety expectations to project teams.
  • Perform safety inspections using predictive solutions software in accordance with the SCCI safety program.
  • Adhere to all Suffolk Safety program requirements.
  • Ensure that pertinent project benchmarks are established and inserted into the baseline schedule.
  • Ensure that appropriate individuals become members of the Q-Team.
  • Ensure that first-delivery and benchmark inspections occur according to the baseline schedule so they do not affect subsequent work.
  • Ensure that inspections are approved, documented, and communicated to the project team.
  • Manage site pre-construction, including the pre-construction survey, job site utilization, and staging plans.
  • Mobilize the field office and maintain the job site to Suffolk standards.
  • Organize job-site documentation for easy access and review.
  • Manage subcontractor performance to quality and ethical standards.
  • Work with the Project Manager to identify and resolve personnel issues and construction-process revisions.
  • Manage all phases of the construction process, including documenting and reporting site activities and progress, managing excavations, and assisting with the Job Site Utilization Plan.
  • Attend project turnover, mobilization, and project coordination meetings.
  • Attend or chair safety pre-construction meetings.
  • Attend or chair weekly foreman and safety meetings.
  • Attend or chair monthly schedule review meetings.
  • Attend closeout meetings.
  • Attend owner meetings.
  • Attend or chair subcontractor meetings and other meetings necessary to monitor and manage the project.
  • Complete and implement construction-office checklists, including emergency phone lists.
  • Complete daily reports and maintain logs of key activities, files, and shop drawings.
  • Manage the quality and condition of all material deliveries.
  • Maintain required safety reporting and all other required files to Suffolk standards.
  • Ensure that as-built working drawings, the current drawing log, and the revision log are maintained and communicated to subcontractors.
  • Manage subcontractor closeout, transfer of utilities, owner training, work lists, and punch lists.

Suffolk Construction hosts First Responders Night at the Brockton Rox. Suffolk Construction, the City's partner in the Public Safety Building, will host a First Responders Night at the Brockton Rox on Thursday, June 4, at 6 pm. Thanks to Suffolk's sponsorship, tickets are free to all Brockton families. Brockton Beer Company is so excited to highlight the great work and sacrifices of Brockton Police Officers, Fire Fighters, dispatchers, staff, and their families. Gates open at 6:00pm (for family activities); Game starts at 7:00pm. There will be fun for the whole family, including: * A great night of baseball at Campanelli Stadium (Brockton Rox v. Downeast Bird Dawgs) * Touch-a-Truck for little ones * Prizes and giveaways for kids and adults * 50/50 raffle * Opportunity for kids to run the bases after the game!
