Requirements
  • A master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • A valid New York State Professional Registered Nurse license.
  • A medical-surgical nursing background with 3-5 years of experience, including clinical supervision of students.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification for the Professional Rescuer or Health Provider.
  • The ability to work in a self-directed and organized manner.
Responsibilities
  • Complete facility orientation prior to the start of clinical.
  • Create patient assignments prior to the start of the clinical day.
  • Supervise students in all aspects of care of patients and clients.
  • Review and provide feedback for all written clinical assignments.
  • Submit grades for assignments as directed by the course coordinator.
  • Provide weekly feedback to students in the clinical area.
  • Complete midterm and final clinical evaluations.
  • Plan instructional activities for pre- and post-conferences.
  • Communicate issues at the clinical site with the course coordinator.
  • Be responsible for all clinical hours assigned to the course.
  • Assist in proctoring exams if needed.
  • Attend faculty meetings once a semester.
