Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program, or qualifying equivalent education/experience and applicable certification, is required.
  • Alternatively, graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology with one year of radiologic experience is required.
  • RCIS, RCES, CEPS, or RT(R)CI certification is required within the first two years of hire.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • ACLS certification is required within three months of hire.
  • The role requires the ability to stand, sit, walk, climb stairs, work indoors and outdoors in temperature extremes, work at elevated heights and in confined spaces, kneel, bend, twist, squat, pinch, grasp, manipulate objects with the hands, reach overhead and in all directions, and perform repetitive motions.
  • The role requires the ability to use both legs, maintain balance and coordination, lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted, lift and lower objects weighing up to 50 pounds, lift up to 25 pounds overhead, and exert up to 50 pounds of force.
  • The role requires corrected vision of 20/40 or better, near and distance object recognition, color discrimination, depth perception, peripheral vision, corrected hearing acuity, and tactile and olfactory sensory function.
  • The role requires the ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements, deal effectively with stressful situations, work rotating shifts and overtime as required, work in a latex-safe environment, and qualify physically for respirator use.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, attention to detail, and commitment to patient safety are required.
Responsibilities
  • Work alongside physicians and clinical team members during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, including cardiac catheterizations and peripheral vascular procedures.
  • Perform scrub duties for cardiac interventions and right and left heart catheterizations, and support peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Monitor electrocardiogram rhythms and hemodynamic waveforms, accurately record procedural information, and document interventions and equipment in the electronic medical record procedure log.
  • Prepare procedure rooms, maintain sterile technique, perform safety equipment checks, ensure necessary supplies are available, and assist with patient transportation and procedural readiness.
  • Develop clinical knowledge and work toward advanced cardiovascular credentials while gaining experience in an invasive cardiovascular environment.
