Requirements
  • At least 1 year of dealership experience.

Responsibilities
  • Promptly meet and greet service customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Listen to customers' reasons for bringing their vehicles to the service department.
  • Offer logical diagnostic services or repairs to satisfy customers' concerns.
  • Provide accurate estimates for all recommended services or repairs.
  • Handle minor customer complaints and misunderstandings courteously and tactfully, without further aggravating problems.
  • Refer customers whose complaints cannot be satisfied at the service advisor level to the service manager or another designated management representative.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and courteously and make every effort to satisfy the caller's inquiry.
  • Check repair progress throughout the day and contact customers about estimate or promised-time changes, explaining cost and time requirements and obtaining authorization before additional repairs are performed.
  • Sell the proper repairs and services based on customers' perceived needs.
  • Present a service menu of recommended maintenance services to every service customer.
  • Make a genuine effort to sell maintenance services due on every service customer's vehicle according to the Road to a Sale process.
  • Obtain accurate parts and labor prices for customer-pay and internal operations using appropriate parts-price sources and labor-pricing guides.
  • Give every customer an accurate estimate when the repair order is initially written.
  • Obtain documented telephone approval for add-on sales when customers are not at the dealership.
  • Meet or exceed sales objectives set by management.
  • Write repair orders properly, thoroughly, and legibly for categories of work designated by management.
  • Separate and distribute repair-order copies according to department policy.
  • Maintain a thorough, accurate, and continuous service scheduling form or route sheet.
  • Document repair-order changes.
  • Inspect every finished repair order for completion, pricing, accuracy, and legibility.
  • Document flat-rate time or other required timekeeping according to service-department and manufacturer procedures.
  • Maintain a record of carryover vehicles.
  • Maintain a record of special-order parts status.
  • Perform administrative functions as directed by service management.
  • Monitor special-order parts and keep all boards up to date.
  • Check warranty follow-up and keep team logbooks up to date.
  • Provide additional vehicle problem and complaint information to technical staff as needed.
  • Maintain communication with technical staff regarding job-status changes.
  • Remain informed about the shop's workload to determine which work the shop can quickly accommodate.
  • Inform the sales manager about potential new-vehicle sales customers.
  • Confirm service appointments by telephone the day before the scheduled arrival.
  • Contact service customers when their vehicles' work is finished.
  • Report situations or conditions that jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its employees, or customers.

Conifer Management has purchased 186,608 shares of Group 1 Automotive, worth an estimated $65.10 million, according to an SEC filing dated 14 May 2026. The transaction lifts Conifer's stake to 47.66% of its reported US equity assets under management. Group 1 Automotive operates over 250 automotive dealerships across the United States and United Kingdom, generating $22.47 billion in trailing twelve-month revenue. The company's shares traded at $334.33 on 14 May 2026, down 24% year-over-year. Despite the share price decline, Group 1 reported first-quarter revenue of $5.4 billion and increased diluted earnings per share to $10.82.
