Requirements
  • A Commercial Cookery Certificate or equivalent qualification is required.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in hospitality, catering, or food service environments is required.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, and menu planning is required.
  • Food Safety Supervisor certification is required.
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points requirements is required.
  • Strong spoken and written English literacy is required.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals, café items, and catering orders.
  • Ensure food is prepared and served to a consistently high standard.
  • Support the planning and delivery of café services and functions.
  • Support menu planning and seasonal menu updates.
  • Monitor food quality, storage, preparation, and handling procedures.
  • Maintain stock levels and participate in stocktakes.
  • Maintain efficient kitchen operations and workflow processes.
  • Deliver customer service to residents, visitors, and guests.
  • Assist in promoting café services and supporting customer satisfaction initiatives.
  • Lead by example and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen, hospitality, and village teams.
  • Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards in line with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points requirements.
  • Follow workplace health and safety policies and procedures, and report hazards.
  • Ensure equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas are maintained safely and professionally.
Desired Qualifications
  • RSA certification is preferred, or willingness to obtain it.
  • Experience in aged care, retirement living, healthcare, or community settings is preferred.
  • Experience with ordering, stock control, and food cost management is preferred.
  • Microsoft Office skills and general computer literacy are preferred.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
