Requirements
- Hold one of the following credentials: Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry; Certified Medical Assistant awarded by the American Association of Medical Assistants; Registered Medical Assistant awarded by the American Medical Technologists; or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant awarded by the National Healthcareer Association.
- Hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
- Have one year of patient care experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Military Medic, Emergency Department Technician, or in another relevant acute, direct patient care role.
- Meet visual color acuity requirements depending on the role in specific units.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing assistance and patient care for the comfort, safety, and personal needs of patients.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and perform procedures for patients' physical hygiene and comfort.
- Perform duties within a unit-based, self-directed, multidisciplinary patient care team while sharing tasks with licensed and non-licensed team members.
- Perform general clerical and reception duties according to the needs of the patient unit or department.
- Prepare and maintain patient charts, transcribe physician orders, and enter information into the computerized patient care system.
