Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • A Secret Security Clearance and Public Trust–Medium Risk suitability background check are required.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Five years of experience in a systems engineering discipline is required.
  • Two years of experience creating reports with SevOne is required.
  • Five years of experience with Perl scripting is required.
  • Three years of experience using software version control systems such as Subversion or Git is required.
  • Strong Linux/Unix shell scripting skills and experience with Perl, Python, JavaScript, REST, and/or HTML programming are required.
  • Experience with SMARTS or another network management system platform is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and support the SevOne monitoring platform.
  • Develop Perl scripts using SevOne application programming interfaces.
  • Create script integrations and utilities using SevOne, preferably with Perl.
  • Maintain the current SevOne installation and user interface.
  • Perform product updates and upgrades and apply patches to the application and underlying platform.
  • Work with service owners to logically group individual data points into actionable categories.
  • Proactively identify and remediate gaps within the monitoring solution.
  • Work with service owners to filter irrelevant data and alerts.
  • Design and implement data and systems integrations with SevOne.
  • Configure monitoring for Windows servers using Windows Management Instrumentation and Windows Remote Management protocols.
  • Use network performance tools to detect network performance problems.
  • Update SMARTS to reflect the current state of the enterprise information technology infrastructure.
  • Create, integrate, validate, evaluate, and test new or existing Java, PHP, and Cascading Style Sheets scripts for the SevOne network management and monitoring product.
  • Work with networking and routing protocols such as Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol, and Border Gateway Protocol.
