Requirements
  • Degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
  • Fluency with exploratory statistical analysis and testing on large data sets
  • Strong fundamental background and experience in operations research techniques used to solve fleet management/logistics problems
  • Strong evidence of ability to ground-up design, analyze, and implement an optimization scheme for any real-world system
  • Strong understanding of operations research toolchains and their trade-offs
  • Strong evidence of ability to collaborate cross-functionally, work hands-on, and execute on open-ended projects in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment
  • Proficiency in Python and Golang, and experience in collaborative code development
Responsibilities
  • Analyze large-scale data from our fleet to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency of the Robotaxi fleet (pickup times, deadhead miles, etc.)
  • Design and implement optimization algorithms to manage Robotaxi fleet operations
  • Collaborate with Tesla Fleetnet Software Engineers to implement and deploy these algorithms at scale
  • Design and implement test plans and tools to measure efficacy and ensure quality of fleet management algorithms
  • Collaborate with Validation teams to ensure regression are prevented and rollouts are successful
  • Technical communication of analysis results and tradeoffs to decision makers and cross-functional teams
