- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
- Four to fifteen or more years of mechanical design or equivalent experience.
- Strong Computer-Aided Design skills using Solidworks and Finite Element Analysis skills using Femap or Ansys.
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and designing for manufacturability.
- Demonstrated ability to personally design, evaluate, and procure complex mechanical assemblies with thirty to forty components in aerospace or similar industries.
- A motivated leader who has experience mentoring and supporting junior engineers.
- United States Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status to comply with United States Government space technology export regulations.
- Own the complete lifecycle and product outcomes for various subsystems on the spacecraft.
- Develop requirements for subsystems and components including loads, interfaces, and functional requirements.
- Perform mechanical design and analysis of complex assemblies to satisfy launch and on-orbit requirements.
- Develop and define design best practices for future programs.
- Manage system level schedule and integration requirements for subsystems while collaborating with the Assembly, Integration, and Test team.
- Mentor and train junior mechanical engineers on projects.
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates.
- Experience with defining vibration environments and running mechanical testing on spacecraft and spacecraft components.
- Experience running a development program while delegating to a small team.
- Experience in synthesizing requirements and flowing them down to sub-scale verification builds and testing.

Taipei, April 15 (CNA) Taiwan-based telecom service provider Chunghwa Telecom Co. recently signed a strategic agreement with Astranis Space Technologies Corp., an American satellite start-up, to develop the first dedicated compact geostationary orbit (MicroGEO) satellite for Taiwan.
Astranis, operator of a satellite internet company intended to bridge the digital divide, raised an additional $50 million of Series D venture funding from NTT Docomo Ventures, and other investors.
As part of this ambitious effort, Orbits first partnered with Astranis, the world's leading operator of dedicated communications satellites, to construct its latest satellite.
